Let's see how it goes with them.

what did the reviews say? from my experience, the problem going with discount online brokerages is their reliability is shit.

does anyone check out investorshub.com ? large community there.

In my opinion don't take things too seriously from investorshub.com specifically the particular topics/forums under that site you choose to follow. Owners of the site have been charged with pump/dump. $heff station on it is pretty reliable and solid. JMHO

People write a review when they are pissed about something. You don't see a lot of positive reviews because most people expect these platform to work flawlessly. I am not saying don't read the review but just don't read too much into it. You can read a lot of reviews but you won't really know it is going to work for you until you tried it yourself.

I got in again at .58 today....and will add if it drops...

been using it over the past few months. Lesson to learn is never listen to anybody's opinion there. There are a lot of pumpers and bashers, especially with penny stocks. When people do valuations of a stock price all I can say is that people ALWAYS exaggerate their valuations make it seem better than it is. Lost a bit of money because I listened to a few people and based my own DD on their valuations. Big mistake there. The pro with Ihub is that some people are especially good at finding information that we usually can't find. So only listen to proven facts and ignore all opinions and personal valuations.

Ivanhoe and its subsidiaries are some of the best companies people should look at: ivanhoe, southgobi, ivanhoe gas etc. I would not dare short a friedland company. Matysek of uranium one fame had to bring friedland on board to get a buyer for potash one. Ivanhoe is massive and at the last update i believe they may split up the company. Ivanhoe is also a shareholder in entree gold so expect a buyout or new public company spinoff soon. The tie up with rio only makes them stronger. Ivanhoe is the owner and rio provides money, where else have you seen a company force a mining giant to its knees?

Full disclosure: im a ivanhoe shareholder

Also looking to buy into aurcana corp (AUN), a producing silver company with a 227mil market cap. They just commenced construction on their second mine and production for their currently producing mine is expected to increase substantially this year. Will wait for the dip on this one before buying in.

Easy money has been made with potash one's sale. I suspect encanto's price run up is solely investors piling in to get on the potash train. I worked on the predessor company to potash one and the land claims were secured prior to the big boys joining but even back then they initial guys bought the cream of the crop.

Encanto looks to be a pure spec play after looking at the management team.

Just saw this. CUU has had 3 news releases in 3 days. I wonder how today will go. Hopefully the opposite of when usual news comes out(usually goes down).

Ivanhoe is massive on what it has in reserves. I have a family friend who works at AMEC and he suggested ivanhoe since it was in its $7 dollar range. I was hoping for it to drop before I pick up some when they announced Rio's buyout clause to be extended to next year. Rio is going to eventually buy this company out. The mine in Mongolia is comparable to the Indonesia mine of FCX.

Side note: Someone is recommending me CSR. It's a NYSE stock, Chinese security company. They announced earlier last week that the CEO who holds 11-15 million shares of 80 outstanding is considering a feasibility of taking the company private and would pay up to $6.50 a share. Right now it's at $4.50.

Anyone considering picking up some POT when it's $60? I think there is going to be a flow of money in once the US side of the stock splits into 3 at the end of the month.

suzuka84 02-16-2011 12:42 PM

Ivanhoe is definitely cream of the crop but at it's current valuation, how much more money can a retail investor make on it?

the whole point of this thread is to find the next breed of companies that turn into the Ivanhoes of the world. If you guys like Ivanhoe, take a look at SouthGobi (Ivanhoe's coal subsidiary is equally as massive). If you like coal in Mongolia and want to make more than 2X your investment you have to look at the juniors, Prophecy Resources springs to mind.

t8v6 02-16-2011 02:32 PM

thanks for the tip. will look into it and do some dd.

Have you seen AUN.V? In comparison to other companies such as ECU, AUN has a lower market cap and higher production numbers while also having a lower share price. Seems undervalued. But it's already run up a lot since August. Their second mine just opened up today. Any insight on upside potential for this stock?

suzuka84 02-16-2011 05:05 PM

whatever you guys do, please stay fully invested in the market as Obama's new budget will only continue the market rally. Do not sit on cash as you need the money full deployed.

Carl Johnson 02-16-2011 06:08 PM

It's a been a long painful ride up if you are sitting on the sideline getting crap return. I laugh at all the clowns on BNN calling the top every single day, then watch the market explode to the upside in their faces. Just to show you how foolish these professional money managers are trying to argue with the market.

That's true

BUT, I signed up with Questrade, did all the paperwork
then logged out and tried logging back in and I got
"Password incorrect", WTF?

Changed the password then tried again, still, "Password incorrect"

What if i ever have to make a trade right away, is it gonna
give me this shit then too?

Even though TD waterhouse costs 3 times as much, i've never
heard anyone say they've had simple problems like this.

Questrade is horseshit, you get what you pay for and this even
before i've paid them.

Gonna open one with one of the banks, lesson learned

Carl Johnson 02-16-2011 08:50 PM

you tried login into questrader.com (the web trading platform) or myquestrade? I would just call them in the morning and see if somebody can resolve the issue for you. Be prepared to wait though, I heard they are getting overloaded with phone calls.

leilomo 02-16-2011 11:47 PM

anybody know what the hype is with Poynt (PYT.V)? i downloaded their app and don't see anything so special about it, but people on stockhouse and HSM are raving about this company. confused....

waddy41 02-17-2011 12:41 AM

hmmmn potential to earn a lot of money through some of their other apps like open table?

i didn't/still don't really believe in the hype...

!LittleDragon 02-17-2011 02:09 AM

Dell finally paid off after doing pretty much nothing the past few weeks.

I totally agree - I got fed up with Questrade and their non-existent customer service. It took nearly 1.5 months to transfer my money into my account. I eventually gave up and went to a real bank.

I'm just going to unload it after the next NR. I've waited for so long, I might as well wait for it. The volume is so low, just one good news, it's going to spike up the volume and SP.

CUU with the pop. Tempted to sell and buy more later. Or just purely buy more with my limited capital. My hoarding greed has kicked in. hahaha

gdoh 02-17-2011 08:53 AM

can any1 tell me why CIN has fallen 50% today with a good NR:confused::confused:

Wasn't what the market expected. I guess everyone was expecting the major discovery that all the pumper was pumping about.

Lesson learned, never marry a stock.
