High volume though for CUU. Yeah, I hope they get back up to that range too. They have two big thing coming up.

Resource Estimate by end of March.
8000m Drill program to start in mid May.

Hopefully we get that buyout. hahaha

don't forget the NTL still needs to be announced

that probably was built into the 1.70 range price but it will still be interesting to see it come out

and i think it would better better to come out before the resource estimate that way they know power will be there to get the expeced amounts

True, hope the announcement is before the resources estimate. This sell off looked like the one they had when it retraced back down to 1.2 before it popped straight to 1.85.

shawnly-You should be still able to purchase CUU. You just need enough money by settlement date. Don't know if Questrade lets you do so.

time to consider deploying the margin accounts. I've been sitting on 50% cash for the past 2 weeks as I'm slowly becoming risk adverse. It has been fun following the companies you guys discuss in the thread but there's just no way I dare to buy into some of the flyers mentioned.

Some of the better prospects are still valued at market caps that would put them in range to buy out solid mining companies. At the current pricing, I'll be buying LUN as the current price vs. the buyout price would make some money given the current economic conditions.

It might make some money, but not as much as you expect. The max cash consideration is 2.4 bn. Lundins market cap is 4 bn so the rest is going to be made up of equinox shares which is 1.3x their price.. assuming that the prices hold, that's $6.5. So assuming you get a prorated share of the cash consideration and the value of equinox, your take home is close to the share price of lundin.

Same here. I made and then lost quite a bit of money in the run-up to fall 2008, so am still very hesitant in putting my money into companies I've only just heard of a few days (or even weeks) earlier.

May I ask why you are so bullish on LUN?

Bingo! I live in London so am slightly ahead of most of you in time-zone, but the Nikkei is down already 1.72%. The FTSE, which just opened, is already down 0.5%. Looks like the North American markets will close down today to wrap up a week of red.

Blue chips aren't a bad idea but some of them can be quite volatile too. The key, I suppose, is to find one with a consistent dividend (more than 3%), that way you can at least have something to hold onto while you wait. Which ones are you considering?

Are any of you experts in the IT field? A friend just pointed me to AXE.v At the moment they are extremely cheap, and Nvidia is a major shareholder, having purchased over 4 million shares recently. I know it's completely off the radar, given that most of the money nowadays is going into mining.

US Markets def going to OVER-react in trading tomorrow especially since its a Friday in my opinion. Get ready to see some good buying opportunities.

and imo, saudi 'protests' won't blow up like Libya , going bearish on oil.
