I do. I'm buying it for my parents for a long term trade.

Luckily I bought a majority of it around $3.7.

If you're willing to wait out for Citi, it's a matter of time when their earnings come back.

while i agree with your comment, the earnings aren't there today, and there is much more money to be made in other equally safe (if not safer) blue chips (CAT, DE, CMI to name 1 sector), so buying and holding onto that puppy may mean missing out on other opportunities... you can always go back to C when the earnings start coming in

I agree. I originally purchased this stock with a 1.5 year time frame. Expected the stock to rise up $6. I didn't expected they go through with a 10-1 reverse split. I was hoping to see more of normalized earnings and more of a stock buy back or increase in dividends. Because the stock was below $5 before, I was waiting for it to rise above it so institutional money can buy into it.

For now, I'm just going to wait it out and see how it settles after the reverse split.

I'm new to mining companies, how much PPS appreciation can we expect on a good RE?

iam_dan 05-09-2011 12:05 PM

great close today.

appreciation from the RE is probably 1-10%, realistically.

Collective sigh of relief from CUU holders

Any1 into US stocks?

I am buying US lately as most of my incomes are USD based.

waddy41 05-09-2011 05:47 PM

I have ENTR and SVM in US...

Why is your income mostly USD?

I am focusing on e-your-business consulting (basically giving custom solutions to bring traditional business to e-commerce or improve their productivity by adapting new electronic systems) and it was more convenient to me to charge my clients in USD as all my contract workers (programers, designers.. etc) get paid in USD. And USD was higher when I started.

Now that the model is set, it's more difficult to change it back to CDN.

Back to topic, I am betting big on the recovery of uranium. In this sector alone, 30K so far on a mix of CCJ and URRE :D

Bought some CSCO when it hit below 17. Let's hope its refocus back to its core business bring some good value to my holdings.

I'm holding quite a bit of Citi, saw it go up like 900% today, it looked nice but we're down overall.. lol

We'll see what this 10:1 reverse split does to Citi.

im with questrade only for tfsa reasons, but i hear interactive brokers are the cheapest (if thats important to you) but not sure how the platform is. and they don't have tfsa.

if you're not opening a tfsa, i suggest looking into other platforms. i don't find questrade that good, the platform doesn't have enough information and i was holding a company that was being bought and had their shares converted, and it took questrade too long to convert them, delaying my trades

Is there a reason why you have to go do their office tomorrow to open an account? Can't you complete it online?
