A friend of mine used Qtrade and he didn't like it/wouldn't recommend it | If you're planning to put money in a stock for more than a year. Just use your TD account no point going through all that hassle to save 10 bucks.
If you mean platform as in trading platform with level 2 and such, it won't be worth your while because it costs $80 bucks a month minimum unless you're planning to get into swing trading. Long-term investment, just buy and come back in X years.
Platform wise I heard TD is good ... going to be trying esignal myself.

would not touch groupon with a 10 foot pole - they should have sold up to google for $6bil - google, amazon, etc. these companies will eat it for breakfast, there are no barriers to entry here, and the name means nothing, its the deals that matter and what ppl go for, and goog/amazon have more cash to throw at this than groupon does
great idea, but i REALLY think they should have sold up for $6 VERY LARGE

did you read the response from TRE? http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...123098823.html
"As indicated in the report, Muddy Waters has a short position in the Company's shares and therefore stands to realize significant gains from a share price decline that it precipitated. Muddy Waters expressly admits that it makes no representation as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any information contained in its report. "

Since you're at it, why don't you take a look at other companies that Muddy Waters has researched.
CCME
RINO
ONP
DGW
Just because they're short doesn't mean they aren't right.

These fraud plays are very good on the way down, especially puts. But going long can be very deadly, you can catch a machete; I'm sure a lot of people thought they would catch a bottom bounce play yesterday at the close, getting in at 7, only to be shitting in their pants this morning at the open.
