I'd be surprised if Wellington's shares were from before Muddy Waters, most likely they got in on the drop.

i almost want us to stop talking about TRE - and calling it a monster... well, not sure what to think about that, given that its fallen from $2x.xx to $4.xx in less than a month

that stock is just a gamble, fundamentals within the company or the economy do not lead to increases or decreases (any more at least) in this stock, it is merely the speculative money going in and out that is moving this stock

Yes, TRE will chew on greed and spit investors back out for lunch. I think it resembles more like a casino, rather than an investment.

Does anyone here know or use Interactive Brokers? I was watching CNBC this morning and their commercial said they would lend 1 million USD for every $200,000 deposit.

I went on their website and found this.

Quote:
IB Lends USD at 1.3% Low Cost January 24, 2011
Central banks are flooding the world with cheap money and the markets haven't moved much. Interactive Brokers will lend one million US dollars at just 1.3% for every 200,000 USD in your portfolio margin account. See our high dividend scanner for the many hundreds of stocks that yield over five percent. Please note that portfolio margin accounts are only for experienced investors with USD 100,000 minimum account equity.

To find out more about Portfolio Margin, see the How Do I Upgrade to Portfolio Margin page.

*Margin rates as of 12/01/2010. Read the Portfolio Margin Risk Disclosure Statement at www.interactivebrokers.com. Dividend yields can change and stocks may lose value. You may lose more than your initial investment. Interactive Brokers LLC is a member of NYSE, FINRA, SIPC.

IB lets you trade more than just US & Cdn markets, I believe.

Although you may think that margin is attractive, but it rarely is a great idea to long term trade/invest on margin due to the risky nature of stocks

Ya the low interest and margin that IB provides can seem tempting at first, say for dividends.
But like all margins, it can be called anytime .

^ It does look tempting. Take my profits from CUU. Buy USD and dump it there. I have 1-2 million to play with.

I got out of CUU yesterday - am somewhat satisfied with a 30% profit, given the market conditions. I believe once the RE comes out, everyone will want to sell, leading to a classic case of "sell on news".

seriously?!

have you done your DD on this stock, there's a reason we're waiting for the RE & FS... its called Teck & their buy in (and if not theirs, then DEFINITELY some other big mining name or CIC)

I use it. I haven't borrowed any millions though.
Only account I've found in Canada that does "stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds. Worldwide. In one account"

Yeah, although I'm familiar with the overall situation surrounding CUU, I just can't keep my money stuck between $2-2.15 for weeks on end. Plus if it was such a sure bet, then I'm sure you would agree with me that the SP should be much higher than it is right now. I hope CUU succeeds, though. It seems like a lot of people, particularly on the SH boards, are betting big on CUU. Moreover, that SC development would be a good thing for our BC economy too. All the best!

Yeah, or I could buy back, depending on how the market reacts. Call it insurance if you would, but I've been trading for about 10 years now and almost 80% of the time when "expected news or REs" comes out, the SP drops, at least for a couple trading sessions. It's happened to me again and again and again...

I hope your spidey senses are working.

Are you guys planning to get out of CUU completely? or just shave off a percentage of your position? I'm going to see how the RE is. If it's really good and the stock pops and doesn't falls. I might hold. If not, I'm tempted to cash in and buy again at a lower price level.

minoru_tanaka - I emailed them. The whole $200,000 deposit for $1,000,000 margin is what they called portfolio margin where you are required to purchase stocks with certain risks and dividend yield. I just stopped reading when they said only for US residents though. lol

Can't really hate on DOHCVTEC, profit is PROFIT. I took some off the table at 2.16, will take a big chunk off after RE, and ride 'free' shares untill FS. good luck everybody.
