The Peregrine takeover, which has more copper and gold than CUU, was just done at $487 million. CUU's current market cap is $600 million.

but keep in mind PGM has ~117M shares whereas CUU has ~374M.
The selling price for PGm was $1.35 in cash and 0.08136 of a Stillwater share, which equals about 2.7$ per share. if i was offered this for CUU ,i'd be happy, however i think this would be a "low ball" to the management.

also i took a look at their 2010 RE of PGM and at the .2% cutoff, CUU does indeed have less copper, but has a lot more gold, silver, and moly. In addition, CUU cu equivalent grade is higher than PGM which will help reduce the cost of production. CUU has stated a cost of production of copper at negative 0.32$/pound by the sales of their by products.

I'm actually new to this so please take my research with a grain of salt.

I would just focus on the market capitalisation (not the share price). Or as a very general rule for copper, approximately $0.05/lb in the ground. CUU has about 6 billion pounds of M&I copper, so 6 billion X 0.05 = $300 million, which is about half the current market cap. On this basis, I think CUU is still overpriced.

what i think CUU is going for is becoming a producer of the copper which would yield a lot more shareholder value and company value: 2.90/lb (conservative price in the RE) against 0.04/lb.

Their targeted drill zones right now for testing are actually starter mine spots as well.

Longer this goes on the worse it is for teck and higher value the company will gain.

Problem is these mining stocks aka CUU take forever to load up. Wouldn't be suprised if this drifts lower until some real news happen.

yeah these mining companies do take forever to release any plans or news. Hopefully something happens soon for CUU ie. within the year.

good luck to all =)

CUU are a small company, with about a dozen employees. They will not, and indeed do not want, to become a producer. Teck are obviously shrewd business people, and will not overpay for anything. Find who owns Galore Creek, which is close to S. Creek, and see what their market cap is.

majority shareholders have a fiduciary responsibility to minority shareholders and to the entity itself.

if the true 'value' of CUU is greater than $1.50, say $3+ (just to use a number), even cosidering the discount for buying the company as a whole, the majority shareholders/board cannot sell for $1.50, otherwise they will get sued for the difference (assuming its relatively easy to show the 'true' value of CUU)

some of you guys are as volatile as HELL with your opinions, one week its worth $10 the next $1 - can you please stop with your 'thoughts' and look at FUNDAMENTALS - long term there is a HUGE shortage for copper - CUU, it appears based on today's information, has a SHIT LOAD of copper that is a reliable and attainable resource - they are already 'in' with Teck to buy them out - companies like Teck, i'm sure, do not low ball like hell... furthermore, there are plenty of other cash rich major mining large caps who would snap them up for a fair price when the time is right.

i think anyone who invests on emotion and are calling for $10 or $1 buy outs should sell, take their money and put it under their mattress, as you are the dangerous types that will sell on a bit of fear.

large caps run on fundamentals, not low balls, emotions, or any other kind of BS - please remember this

CUU will not become a producer - that's not a problem, they will JV with a large cap who will produce and take their cut (bank roll the project for 50%? of revenues), CUU never would have and never will have any intention on producing - that's their mandate - exploration

Galore creek - JV between Teck (30B market cap) and Novagold (2.xxB market cap) - what's your point?

Back in CUU, at $1.45, but only with a small position though. Let's see how this plays out.

CUU has more gold. They have 5 million ounces whereas peregrine has 1.5 million.

To compare peregrine to CUU.

We have have

-higher grade
-molybdenum
-silver
-this is based on 1% of the property
-Teck's option.

CUU has a NPV of $2.8 billion. CUU 23.5% of Shaft Creek should technically worth $658 million. Divide that by outstanding shares. It comes to $1.76.

I don't think the insiders would accept a low ball offer of $1.50 or anything below $1.76. The worse case scenario is that they won't accept any buy out that's below the $1.76 level. Even if they got most of their shares of 10 cents. They probably rather let Teck do all they work and they can sit their and wait for the mine to develop.

Say Teck doesn't back in on that 75%. Say they back in on the 50%. Our share of the mine is now worth $1.4 billion. Or $3.50 a share.

The potential of Shaft Creek is much larger IMO. The fact that CUU is in the final stage of developing a FS is already worth a lot. We are that close guys.

Good buys for the ppl who got in at the 1.40s.

Just saw this on SH.

Any news and these shorts would be scrambling for shares.

^ Long term. Yes.

^ Short term trade for a quick buck. Maybe not.

FEED is doing pretty well. I shouldn't have sold 1/4 of my position for the profits on Friday.
