Those guys on SH get hyped over sometimes. NPV is $2.8 billion based on 07 numbers. Yes 25% would be in range of $2 bucks or so. But do you think CUU will let Teck keep the entire Schaft Creek for a $200 million (75%) + (assumed buy out of $2.33 x 370 million shares) = $862 million. So for a NPV value of $2.8 billion is bought for $1.062 billion? I think CUU might say I'll keep our 25% instead and you can just go on and build/finance the mine for us. IMO, I think Teck will buy CUU out with a premium within the NPV of the mine. Definitely more than $2.33. Plus ppl like on SH is like omg..we have so and so of Moly that's extra of x amount of billions divide that by shares.. it's like are you stupid? they are evaluating the entire mining value of SC like they can mine it right now. They don't even consider present value/future value. |
so who's ready for another 500 pt drop tomorrow? anyone? |

Long idea for the day - imax. I think the stock has been beaten down because of a weak 1h2011 movie lineup. Take a look at their theatre backlog (close to 300) and the blockbuster hits coming online for 2012. Also take into account their international expansion in China, Singapore, Russia and India and the fact that average theatre revenues are higher internationally and overseas. 2012 could be a huge year for them based on theatre expansion (30% est.) and higher box office revenues. Based on that, EBITDA 2011-2012 will almost double. Oh and did I mention it's trading at a far lower P/E than its peers? |

Japan's GDP came in better than expected for Q2 - if we don't hear anything negative, i'd imagine tomorrow should erase last week's losses, as ppl will realize that all the doom & gloom isn't as bad as what was priced in over the last 2 weeks although europe has a tendancy to mess us around |
ok i know it's been hashed, but someone please point out to me something I'm not seeing. RIMM trades at a PE of 4 (3 if you back out their cash reserve) Nokia trades at a PE of 11. Nokia is FAR more fucked than RIMM is, yet everyone is betting that RIMM is going to die? I mean yes, they're bleeding to aapl and android, but 3x. Really? They're being priced like they'd lose 1/3 of their revenues YoY yet the data shows that they increased topline by 5%. Huzzah? Value trap? |

Everyone's opinions will be different for what to and what not to invest in. That's the beauty of economics. Really, the best thing to do is just research and educate yourself. Try a simulator and trade as if it were your own money. Learn by doing. |
