should have bought a option straddle.. that's probably the safest bet because you know tech players will fly high in one direction or the other..

glad i got out of amzn when the fire was released. i love amazon as much as hte next guy, but from what i've heard that tablet loses about $50/tablet, their margins are squeezed as is... and their PE is pretty insane (don't get me wrong, love the growth they've had, but they've been acquiring growth at the expense of margin...)

i love you amazon, glad i got out at $23x, i'll come back for more at a better PE

no real point to this post, BUT...

now, i know very little about Linkedin the company/the stock - i don't know the make up of their revenues, how much is advertising, how much subscription... but...

i just looked at the subscription rates - OFFENSIVE! my word, facebook has it right, free, make money from advertising, ppl's info etc - linkedin, you're on crack

i know its a different audience, but still, i could never own that stock just on the principal that i wouldn't own a stock whose product i don't believe in

it listed in April or May, when it did everyone was drawing yr 2000 parallels due to its crazy multiples (huge revenue growth, but no income)

FB is a different story, has huge marketing revenue streams, but also has all of your information and trends on FB, which it can sell to marketers and others - a much better business model.

and no, i wouldn't invest in facebook anytime soon out of fad fears, just look at myspace (apples to oranges, though)
