JMHO...if the past two days' activities has gotten you feeling that bad, maybe you have too much of your portfolio in something (i.e. not diversified/hedged enough)

sorry if this is kinda off-topic but i figured it probably wasn't worth starting a new thread on...

I know next to nothing about trading and normally don't have too much interest in it, except I want to throw a couple thousand at UBNT:NASDAQ stock. Except i have no idea how... preferably something online, cheap, and simple? Looking at it as more of a longer term investment since I have faith in the company, but perfectly OK if it all goes down the drain.

Generally its pretty easy to find noob info like this through google... but all the stuff I'm reading is basically just written as an advertisement for whatever site/service, or its a 400 page book on how to get rich quick.

thanks in advance

With all the doom and gloom in the news, we are still above the lows we made in October. As long as we stay above it the bull market is still alive. We could still get a very nice year end rally from here but the market like it always does will try to shake out as many people as possible.

Worst time to sell is now. Going to sit tight and hold my positions in companies that have good fundamentals.

I picked up more POT (44.5) and BNS (49.8) yesterday. Both are long-term holds. Like SiRV said, I might be better off just not looking until a year later haha

Bought some INFN today at 6.98.

I think market going down is great time to buy. Don't ever try to buy at the lowest point or sell at the highest. Plan your investments.

if you don't need teh money within hte next 12 months, this is a great time to buy

better times to buy may be coming - in which case, buy more

if you're doing it to make a quick buck, agreed, but different ppl invest in different ways - and i bet in the end of hte day, there's not a significant difference in the profit outcome (over many years)
