Market up, market down. Reminds me of Fall 2008. Every day, the direction changes.

I would do a short term bullish options play on QQQ for tomorrow in my virtual account. Just playing the indices would be good enough. Then, I'll I'll do a bearish play the next day.

Good thing it is monopoly money. hahahaha. I've been out of the market (at least not a bull ) since the end of May, when the stochastics for the Dow on the 1 year chart went below the 75.

I was hoping that the Dow would close around 15,500. That was my exit point from January. But when it only reached that point only during intra-day, I was skeptical and was slowly cashing in.

Upcoming floors for the Dow would be 14700 and 14600. Here we go. Looks like the bears are winning.

i short SP500 futures. after it made new lows.

bought back small profit, gonna resell sometime higher.

i bet the market will go up, give the bulls a chance to break even or take a small loss... they will take it, then the market will tank again.

I made a fat finger mistake yesterday, i sold 4 contracts of gold, realised my mistake and got out with a 1000 dollar loss lol.
that fat finger mistake was a sign from god. i shoulda left it in, i'd be up 40k today in gold oh well. just goes to show u there's many other chances.

I'm not sure what's the gold outlook. But I have heard a friend (who works for one of the largest PE in US) saying that many are betting the gold to return to 3-digit prices within 2013.

crude oil looks toppy...yesterday red, 60min crossing over now. hopefully it pulls back. it could just keep dropping though.

sp500, i assume it will test the previous highs... and when it does it could be a good time to play a straddle. it'll go one way or another lol.

strykn 07-11-2013 07:26 PM

just btfd, easy money till next catalyst for a sell off

blkgsr 07-16-2013 07:33 AM

suzuka84 07-25-2013 08:40 PM

perfect time to be building positions in the major mining companies

barrick, teck and potash are the new buys for my portfolio

noclue 07-25-2013 10:22 PM

I prefer goldcorp instead of barrick. May I ask why you purchased ABX? The shutdown and write-off of the mine in argentina is troubling for me

Barrick made a very big bet on copper (under Aaron Regent) - Equinox Minerals. Barrick is beaten down already and heavily discounted making it a good value play. Goldcorp is the darling of the sector right now. I stay away from market darlings.

Anyone in the Vix? Record lows... doom on the horizon.

a moment of silence for your potash position. hopefully it'll recover, just need another major drought!

Ulic Qel-Droma 07-30-2013 05:41 PM

trading strategies for the softs are reversed i find. only during scares does it turn into a bullrun. all other times are bearish.

they'll only go up sharply when there's a drought, or tight supply or some scare.

lets hope the russian govt can force them back into the cartel. The economics of it makes sense, the population is growing while the arable land is decreasing forcing farmers to produce more with less, the only way to do it is with fertilizers.

I'm thinking potash and monsanto to diversify away from metals and mining.

Not just that but growing numbers of meat eating population. I remember it takes 7 pounds of grain to farm 1 pound of meat.

Ulic Qel-Droma 08-01-2013 10:55 PM

down go the metals.

edit: i still think they're going down. today is just a bump in the road.

jasonturbo 08-05-2013 11:24 AM

Been a while since I posted! Damn work is controlling me during trading hours.. which is probably for the best :s hahahaha.

Still holding a massive chunk or AMRN around the 8.50$ mark, currently trading around 5.50$, bought my first AMRN shares in July of last year... talk about a long hold!!!! With any luck it will all be over by December :D
