holy crap, how did they not determine that at the beginning when the study was first made public

Well the FDA's rationale for the delay in making this decision to rescind relates to studies completed during/after 2009 when the SPA was developed. Even worse is only a few months ago the FDA allowed AMRN to begin discussing ANCHOR application with prescribing doctors... guess they will "rescind" that as well.

Having said that, none of the studies referenced by the FDA in this rationale actually met their end points, they were all abandoned before completion. Meanwhile the FDA refuses to accept the better part of a dozen recognized studies that establish a general concensus that high trigs increase the risk of CHD.

The best comment I have heard regarding this fiasco was "Thanks to the FDA, today was a big win for fast food companies"... lol

I don't buy into conspiracy theories, but if there was ever one situation where I can't help but think there is something going on behind closed door... this is it!

what do you plan on doing with your huge position on this company?

subordinate 10-30-2013 10:10 PM

I say buy 7000 lottery tickets on this upcoming lotto Max.

Or spread 7000 on two penny stocks.

Huge position lol... it used to seem significant, now it's a small amount really, I haven't looked in a while but my position is now worth roughly 30k.

I will just sit and wait, see what happens, as much as it sucks to lose money it's all very interesting to me :)

I try to think of it as a very expensive education.

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-31-2013 12:29 PM

why such a big position if you admit you're still paying tuition?

lol why not take on smaller positions till you are sure you've "graduated"?

that would seem like the... logical thing to do.

@BBRY(RIM) I realize this is beating a dead horse, seeing as the company is basically going to be sold and likely disolved shortly there after... but today my employer announced that we are moving to IOS for coporate, with the option for people to BYO Android based devices as well.

So that's another approx. 7k BB users down the toilet. Not sure if that will be enough to impact share value given the circumstances.

Now if we could only get rid of these Dell POS laptops, my life would be complete.

TouringTeg 11-03-2013 06:31 PM

^^ x2. I work at a multi-national commercial property management company and we are also switching from BB to Android (Samsung Galaxy Note). Just arrived last week and I can't wait to ditch my BB.

It opened at 45.10, the shares at $26 were bought as IPO and can't be sold immediately (lockup period); Algos/bots are in control at the moment.

I think the lockout period is 6 months.

Well folks, turns out #YOLO might not be the best investment strategy after all :(

There exists a much better strategy that I plan to implement tomorrow morning, details below;

- Transfer $5500 to TFSA Account (Yes I am fully aware of the penalty structure, it will cost me 100$ for two months over contributing the max. 2014 amount)
- Spend it all on AMRN!!!!!!

Thought over contribution was that any gains you make are taxed at 100% :S

Effective October 17, 2009, any earnings or increase in value reasonably attributable to "deliberate excess contributions" will be considered an advantage and treated accordingly. For more information, see Tax payable on an advantage.
This clause provides them with some level of authority to penalize you beyond the 1% monthly over contribution penalty.

I know someone who got nailed for it and was forced to pay the 1% monthly penalty even though he had made a somewhat significant return on his over contribution.

Never followed pharmaceutical stocks. When they have a drug get approved does the stock just sky rocket or is it a fairly long term thing? ARMN is definitely cheap enough to roll the dice with a few bucks.

Maybe AMRN could be a possible buyout?

With the buyout out of Canadian PBL.To recently, who knows, maybe AMRN is attractive at its current price for someone to place a bid.

Anyways, I took a position in LX Ventures, Market cap is kinda high for really nothing at the moment but I'm banking on the Social Media craze. & from my amateurish TA skills, I see the continuation of a breakout.

If anyone remembers INT.V from 2 years ago, where it went from .14 to 2 dollars, this is sort of similar (but with a more solid management) but likely more cautious in its price climb. I'm liking their Mobio division where stars can interact with their fans and they can monetize this. Yeah yeah...they can do this with twitter and facebook, but eh, a penny stock that does this? I'm in.

They already have a couple of celebrities signed for their Dec.1 launched. If I was a betting man, which I am, they likely saved the ace cards for the week before Launch, to really hit the media outlets. Keep in mind, they already have people such as Keisha, Romeo, Scott Disdick, couple others.

LXV looks like a good short candidate. Reading through the MD&A and financials of the company doesn't give me any assurance the company can generate any meaningful amount of cash. Not to mention the business model might be fundamentally flawed. Stock had trouble around the 0.30-0.35 area, let's see how it trades this time.

subordinate 11-11-2013 07:00 AM

It's a venture stock not a mid-large cap. Anyone who knows the venture exchange knows that 99.9% are crap and most die.

It's all just a game, try and get in before the hype and expected drilling news/release of something big, and ride the wave. Surf's up.

Edit: On a side note, Zenyatta broken through a downtrend on a fairly position NR. If you don't know about Zen.v , you should read about it. Coles, they have 2 zones that they've drilled. Samples have produced over 99.9 ish % graphite. Graphite in this range is usually synthetic and are costly both cost and environmentally.

The avg cost per ton can be from 5k to 30k / ton for this graphite. So being natural, if the quantity is there, can mean quite the motherload for Zen.

subordinate 11-12-2013 09:06 PM

Jumped from LX to ISD.V before run. Got in ISD at .175.

GCO.V @ .21 cents also looks interesting. Consolidation is over, non compliant 43-101 is about 14.38 mill tons @ .28% cobalt. With Cobalt at about 25,000/ton, equates to just over one billion dollars in Cobalt, not factoring in Tungsten and other minerals.

what is everyone's opinion on Tesla? I am not interested in buying but it has gone down quite a bit than the fire thing and it started going down a lot 3 Tesla fires over 6 weeks it was close to 200$ in late sept/early october, as of yesterday it 137

a friend of mine has some Tesla shares that he bought a while ago he said under 100$ I'm not going to tell him what to do as it is his money and not mine. Do you think he should hold on to it? or is it time to sell?
