^ about time they did it. I was hesitant to do any day trades with TD due to their commission.

i duno about new highs, but if you're bullish on SP, you should already be in and riding this mini daily waves up. new high or not, you've already made nice cash!

does anyone here trade long straddles or short strangles in options?

I'm in, just a matter of timeing when to get out and go short. I think if we see resistance at the old highs its going to be a rough year.

What do you guys think about Rsi (Rogars sugar inc).

Looking at buying my first stock and it seems like a good buy with a good dividend yield

not a bad stock to be into, entry price is at $4.40, support/stop loss price is around $4.30 and the first real resistance is around $4.60

what's your holding time horizon?

looks good potential when you look back at feb 3rd when it dipped to all time low then a slight bounce back creating an early rising bottom pattern however it needs time to establish that and you also collect a 9 cent quarterly div in the mean time to offset trading commssions and or potential loss on the trade

i would consider that trade but risk enough to have a good night sleep

I'm only going to buy a 100 shares so around $445 + 9.95 for the commission through RBC

EDIT:
looking online seems like RBC charges $25/month service fee

would it be better to use a site like quest trade?

yeah i would consider that trade myself

looks to me RBC & TD is coming out with $9.95/trade to stay competitive with the likes of quest trade and interactive brokers, if you don't trade much, I would use them, I trade frequently so I use quest trade myself

also, according to RBC website, sign up new acct and get 20 free trades so works in your favour to get started

I want to start trading ETF's but don't know which platform to use. I have done some research and have come down to:

- Qtrade
- Questrade
- Interactive Broker

What do you think?

main purpose would be trading. By researching do you mean looking for trends? I don't think I have the knowledge/time to trade stocks, which is why I am looking at ETFs right now.

researching i mean fundamental (facts on the stocks and sectors), if you don't have time or knowledge i would suggest stick to a financial advisor to see what etfs matches your investing criteria

I use Questrade for ETFs. Free to buy, ~$5 to sell. Easy peasy.

Yeah, stocks are 1 cent to buy but ETFs are no commissions when buying (credited back within 2 business days, ECN fees apply), and standard commission when selling ($4.95 to $9.95)

I just realised flappy bird is exactly like trading:

as soon as you look at your score and get excited, you lose.
as soon as you feel frustrated, you lose.

no emotions. just flap.
