Earnings were basically inline with analyst estimates.

- Shitty CC, company talked about the science, nobody cares about the science right now, talk about sales and execution you idiots.

- FDA has requested an additional 30 days to respond to the appeal for ANCHOR indication, this would mean we can expect an answer before Sep 15th.

- OPEX Aug 16th I believe, watch for 1.50 before this date.

Will be interesting to see what kind of answer they get from FDA, Dr. Jenkins is the responder for this level of the appeal process and he has involved the policy section of the FDA to assist him with his decision.

Pretty much trading on the horizontal until response is back or sales start climbing hard.

anyone ready to dip back into the mining realm?

Mineral prices are still sitting at lows.

I've been rebuilding my gaming position over the past week as most of the gaming companies dropped 10%.

waddy41 08-20-2014 06:28 AM

I didn't stop day trading miners... making money both long and short..

Does anybody bought any of the Motley Fool subscriptions?

ie. rule breakers / stock advisors etc?

what are your guys thoughts and experience?

some of my friends think it's great and are doing really well with their recommendations, but they have mostly subscribed when the market was heading up. However, they are outperforming the S&P.

The market in general is doing really great. Almost too great.
BOC rate kept at the same.

It's crazy to read back in this thread about various small caps, ROG, SLI, CUU, NZ, CLL, TAG, POT and see where they ended up :s

I have continued to learn over the years and I believe that anything on the TSX-V; run for the hills, TSX; run for the hills lol.

Stick to the big names traded on US exchanges, going back three years it would have been too easy to simply load up on JPM, BAC, AAPL, AA, etc. and make a ton of money.

Jegz 09-10-2014 08:02 PM

Well I'm finally gonna dabble my feet in the stock market. I've read a few books, shitload on investopedia and currently reading Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas. Decided there is only so much you can learn by reading and paper trading, and the only way to actually learn is through the real thing. Gonna start with around 7-8k.

What do you guys think of GILD, and the upcoming Alibaba IPO?

I fully agree with you Jason. I do want to add, that TAG oil recommendation went upwards to 9 ish dollars/share. From the call around just under 2, so if one didn't sell anything, he/she is a fool.

Yes it sucks when you start slow, but after reinvestments and capital appreciation, you realize how fast things change.

Better than losing everything in one day on pennies :(.

Granted.... bre-x...sino-forest, yellow pages, sears, radio shack. Just have to diversify.

CRS 09-20-2014 09:30 AM

Anyone have an online broker they recommend? I've been looking in virtual broker and wanted to see if anyone uses them as well?

iEatClams 09-22-2014 06:48 PM

I'm not a trader. I'm an investor. 50% of my portfolio is ETFs. and the other 50% are large companies like POT, BAC, wells fargo, AMZN, YHOO, GOOG. The last year has been good for these guys.

I also made some bad plays like DDD (was up 50% at one point, didnt sell, now im down). also down a gold etf.

key is diversifying.

Anybody bearish on $SPY?. Whelp, looks like there might be a reversal? Lucky I got out before noon.

Jas29 10-09-2014 09:28 PM

hud 91gt 10-10-2014 07:25 AM

Finally started playing around with my own money. So far i've only had balls to invest in my own company. Over the last 2 weeks it hasn't been pretty. What can you expect from a hugely volatile company. I expect big changes over the next month. AC.B

sonick 10-10-2014 07:49 AM

If anybody has cash on hand, now's the time to load up... If you don't, then... well... hang on for the ride.

dat_steve 10-10-2014 01:43 PM

Played the ebola scares with TKM over the past few weeks and made out with some good coin each time. Never held for over a few hours though - Just wanted some weekend beer money.

Traded some SPY 192 Puts today, made out with a nice 93% return.

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-10-2014 03:14 PM

SHORT DAT SHIT!

Hehe 10-11-2014 11:46 PM

Anyone buying?

I'm about to load up 60k worth of TSM. It's a solid company all around and I feel the price is cheap now. Expecting a good 10~20% return by new year time.

I saw that. I pay attention to $INDU. It broke the 200 day moving average, not by much. The stochastics is in oversold territory as expected, but not by much. Perhaps there's a lot more space to go down. We shall see by Monday what goes on. :concentrate:
