A good lesson in diversification, obvs I knew the risk but still lol

Had dinner tonight with one of the managers of AIMCO, he believes we have no more than 1 year of high times before shit hits the fan again.

Also believes there is a startup bubble comparable to the dot com bubble at the moment lol.

GL all!

I'll share the company names I'm selling in the private placement after the paperwork is done, hoping this doesn't fall apart!

Used to trade NFLX stock a few months ago and saw some decent gains. From what it looks like, its been pretty much stuck around 120-130 now.

Anybody trading BZUN or MCRB?

Pretty much the same here. I've been holding mostly cash nowadays.

It's only a loss once it's sold... I'm holding onto ZEO (purchased Dec 2014) - currently makes up 12% of my overall portfolio (started off as 15%), but 50% of my entire Canadian holdings. Canada in general looks pretty fucked up for this year.

Finally, some needed downtrend.

Just been buying puts and selling calls to keep things afloat. Then again. 90% of my portfolio has been cash for the past 2 years.

I'l be posting some T.A. graphs again to start up conversation and speculate. Hopefully, the regulars jump back in to this thread and make it more lively again.

This is the mentality that see accounts get blown up. As an investor you need to manage your risk and cut your loss when you're wrong EARLY.

Good week for me trading $SPY puts/calls. Remember US market close Monday MLK Day.

Still pretty easy to make money in these market conditions. Just have to find a stock that has solid news or is uptrending for the day. (Or downtrending if you're okay with shorting)
I've been able to make almost a couple grand since the New Year and only traded a few days so far.

Another strategy would just be to short every big name stock right now (GOOG, NFLX, APPL, etc.)

On the plus side, I'm loving how much the dollar is dropping and hopefully will keep dropping. Going to make a purchasing a new car this year that much easier. U.S. income FTW

Stock trading. Day trading to be specific. Most stocks I trade are usually on NYSE or NASDAQ which are US exchanges so the currency I use is USD. Therefore any profits made on trades are also in USD.

It's not easy to daytrade and make money....

SPY Cs and Ps all week for me. That NFLX 105P on Wed paid real nice too. Wish we have robinhood in Canada.

To each their own.

Daytrading works for me and I've been very successful with it. 3 weeks into 2016 and I've already made about 25% of my account value (5000$ with 20000$ to trade with.) Daytrading is huge on news movements and technical analysis, which I've spent a long time learning how to do well.

Besides, just the thought of holding a stock overnight makes me nervous lol never know what can happen overnight to a stock or the market
