Buy in when you feel comfortable with the price or DCA.

the way i look at it is that if you were already buying regularly before the dip, then this is an even better time to continue doing so. if you are on the outside looking in and have not been active in buying over the last few years, then i'd recommend not jumping in with both feet. also whether you're in or out, i would not recommend over-leveraging to get in right now, just buy as usual, or maybe just slightly more than usual. it's a good time to make sensible buying decisions.

Long term invest Dollar cost average is gonna be the best bet for most people.

Anyone buying US stocks in your TSFA? How does that work? You deposit CDN into your TSFA and then convert that into USD? I assume you would have to open a US TSFA stock account to transfer that money into.

I just deposit CAD and when buying US stocks, it automatically calculates the exchange rate for me.

That's what I do for my TFSA Questrade account. I deposit CAD and when I buy a USD ticket stock, it will automatically convert CAD to USD for me. Since the amounts I transfer aren't big enough, I don't bother with Norbert's Gambit.

I would check with your Broker to see how they handle it.

I would like to know too, but I think you are correct. I tried using the platform Questrade. My funds didn't go through and I was having problems setting it up. After back and forth emailing their unsupportive customer support. I gave up LOL.

I tried using Robinhood too... but it's only for Americans...

What platform is user-friendly for newcomers?

Keep an eye on any VIX sort of stocks when other shit goes down hill, if markets start to slump, these start to go up. I've only day traded VIX and I would not recommend bag holding on these.

TVIX, VIX, VIXY, VIIX.

Been trading in USD in my TFSA for a few years now, never had any sort of restriction.

Anyone getting taxed from the IRA on US stocks? I read that it is an automatic deduction from dividends.
