I've learned to never bet against the fed unless there's a clear trend downwards.

So....when's the rug pull? Even buffet didn't expect airlines to recover this fast

Bit of Friday afternoon madness. Must say I am surprised, I thought the global protests would drag down the markets this week but the opposite.

Tech led the charge, but it's pretty much peaked now with most companies at or near ATH. Money is now funneling into stocks that were hit the hardest. Many of which are still at or around a 40-50% discount from before March.

Cruise lines, casinos, airlines, etc.

Opened a new direct investment account. During covid times I did research and missed out on big opportunities. More than half of my possible tfsa contributions are in TFSA mutual funds. It's already too late this year but if I sell all my tfsa mutual funds in december, can i buy tfsa etfs in january and get back my contribution? Basically, does my contribution reset every January regardless of when i withdraw my mutual funds or is it a cycling year and I get my contribution room back next december? thanks!!

Hertz rally is retarded.

Did anyone else go into oil? OPEC meeting passed over the weekend and it looks like the Saudis are trying hard to get oil back up

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but the recovery for the industries that are expected to recover are being priced in so it seems the upside potential is dwindling. Anyone going in hard now would be FOMOing imo. There's bound to be a market correction RIGHT

What a beautiful rug pull today.

The last top was highlighted by retail investor success and easy money everywhere.
We are currently seeing people like barstool outperforming berkshire.

Big money have been accumulation Long VIX position for weeks now.
With us inches away from the ATH before the dump.
Institutions could have already offload their pre covid positions at this poiint
HTZ investor from pre bankruptcy have had many chance to exit now thanks to retail
This could be the beginner of the W recovery. Who know, but we all know the market isn’t even remotely related to reality now.

Anybody else really excited with all this volatility?

I've been trading the swings, currently sitting at around 30% profit. MORE VOLATILITY

Missed the boat on Shopify and it's at an all time high right now. Friend told me to wait until August but I'm at fomo thinking Shopify will go higher. Should I buy now? What do you guys think?

Back in the Spring of 2017, I was looking at Shopify because there was an increasing trend of online shopping and I was noticing how a lot of websites were using it.

At the time, I think it just broke through $100 (CAD, not even USD) and I thought it was too expensive. Instead, I went in on $BABA.

EDIT: Not recommending in FOMO, but just giving you my own personal missed experience, lol.
