I want to know if anyone is trading in a non-registered account.
Im always having the luck getting great return in my direct investing, my TFSA/RRSP not so much.
How do you guys manage capital gain? Or I'm SOL

GIZZ 02-20-2021 09:29 AM

Seeing so much red, and I try to recoup by getting more loose and sloppy. Bad times, lol. I should have instead bought a bunch of cars this year.

same thing for me. what do you mean by manage the capital gains?
you can't shift stuff around to minimize your cap gains in your cash account, all you can do is put your losses against your gains in the same account and then pay the cap gains tax.

DFV bought another 50,000 shares GME yesterday the day after appearing before Congress. Dude doubled down. He is not a cat. Also, he likes the stock.

Razor Ramon HG 02-20-2021 04:05 PM

At the price of around $40, I think GME is priced fairly.

I want to start a new position after seling all of my shares a few weeks back during that huge run up, but I will wait to see if it'll go to the 30s again. I would like to have the stock in my portfolio, but it's not a necessity.

I've actually been buying my recent gaming related products from EBGames if I can. Have to give back to the company. ✊

Looking to add some at this price as well. There were some price targets prior to the gamma squeeze that were around $70ish. That's all still very much in play I think. The floor/support is pretty close here at $35-40.

On another note, CCIV folks, Bloomberg released an article today mentioning Tuesday as a potential announcement date for the Lucid merge. Monday is going to be volatile!

$BITF has gone up 130% in the past week. good chance it could go up to $10 before their next earning report

CCIV will be my biggest bagger if the merger goes through. I dont expect it to go below $50 anymore. That huge sell off by an institution that brought it down to $51 was probably the best entry point. I loaded some more just before closing on Friday.

MelonBoy 02-21-2021 12:40 AM

Buy the rumor sell the news. I can see a big pull back after any announcement
Imo, Id be careful buying cciv at this moment. Its up so high.

Razor Ramon HG 02-22-2021 11:52 AM

Who else's portfolio is getting destroyed today

CorneringArtist 02-22-2021 03:46 PM

Most of my portfolio got murdered, but surprisingly got solid gains on HUT and BITK.

GIZZ 02-22-2021 04:12 PM

Not just today, the past 4 weeks have been bad.

Bought the dip this morning, I hope it's just a dip.

SpeedStars 02-22-2021 04:34 PM

LUCID finally confirmed the CCIV deal and there's a 30% pullback AH wonder what's gonna happen next. Sold at ~$26 and been kicking myself since

sonick 02-22-2021 04:55 PM

It's to be expected based on similar patterns from other spacs, just passed catalyst 3 and in the profit taking downturn.

Yep, was thinking of adding some crypto miners again over the weekend.

I bought DMGI at $1 a month back and sold it at $2. It dipped today to around $3 at open and closed at $4.58, but of course, I missed the boat completely.

Profit taking had to happen somewhere.

Most SPACs decline post-merger, but it seemed reasonable to expect CCIV to decline on merger confirmation due to the nature of its price.

With the merger details out, CCIV at $63 (today's high) would've equaled a 101 billion market cap. After the large correction today at $40, it still has a market cap of 64 billion.

Even the biggest post-merger runners like NKLA and QS weren't this high at peak.

whitev70r 02-23-2021 07:10 AM

Brookfield attempting hostile takeover of IPL. Is this in any way related to the cxl of Keystone pipeline by Biden?

Obsideon 02-23-2021 12:37 PM

Market-wide drop today, but AMC making small gains :fullofwin:

whitev70r 02-23-2021 12:41 PM

Good day to buy.

Here's hoping miners pick back up again.

They re evaluated the deal apparently making it a lot shittier for retail investors. That's why there was such a big pullback AH.. will see if hype train continues or if retail investors actually read into the stock rather than just the hype headlines lol

Only if you sell lol. I slept in today and missed the damn dip to buy :yuno: would have loved to load up on a couple of my top stonks..
Honestly, hope its another red day tmr so I can go shopping lol

Razor Ramon HG 02-23-2021 07:05 PM

I think anyone that bought miners on the dip today might be in for a nice treat tomorrow assuming BTC holds. It's already recovered most of its losses in the last 24 hours.

CorneringArtist 02-24-2021 12:14 PM

GME is going back up LMAO

JSALES 02-24-2021 12:57 PM

Here we go again lol

Razor Ramon HG 02-24-2021 01:05 PM

Guess I won't be able to join the ride a second time.

I was actually about to put orders in at $60 and $69.69 (for the memes) when I saw it spike up on the massive volume, but I decided not to FOMO in considering my previous target was $35-40.

FeelsBadMan

In hindsight, I should've bought some shares at $40 and averaged in if it went lower. Least I'd have some skin in the game.

One of my buddies who is still holding from the last run is finally green, so I'm glad there's another winner from all this madness and hope he learns to sell this time around.
