Oh man... you're never going to graduate to PENTEL_BAWS if this keeps up

I should have listened to Ulic and dumped my non-performing child Apple and got back in later

lilaznviper 03-26-2021 10:24 PM

been red almost this whole week. bought a ton of dips so hopefully get some gains next week.

Ain't my style to be flexing just the highs

Check out this one week difference - a GT4! LOL

To be clear, I'm not down/up in realized loss/gain, just portfolio performance / potential gain. Gotta wait 2 more months until I can realize anything

Time frame is YTD. It was more impressive in Mar, +660%, but I repurchased more (on public market) recently.

Only loss I'm realistically taking is potential gain. But I'm locked into trading restrictions so I can't do anything about it.

The rest of my portfolio is only a 10% +/-, not significant enough to report. That said, it took 3 years to get a +15% on a crypto fund that I didn't do my DD on LOL. Curious to see how that one pans out in 5 years

...can you elaborate on what these trading restrictions are?

Yeah I mentioned it back in Feb. Basically, my shares are restricted until late May. This means that I cannot transfer into any account, sell, or purchase warrants until that date.

Edit: link for those curious as to what I'm talking about

RIP looks like im bag holding till its worth it to sell. Down to +150.69%

Considering transferring to TFSA seeing that it's so low right now. I'll take the capital gains hit now, at the risk of my contribution room, hopefully it'll go back up

Why would you do that and risk the stock going down further and you lose your TFSA allowance?

The stock went down further. At this rate it'll be close to my initial buy in price, which would be a small fraction of my TFSA allowance.

I'm considering it because I'm planning to bag hold long term and my outlook of the company remains positive in that within the next 3-5 years they'll be at a higher trajectory than it is right now. This would allow me to cash out and not get taxed when the time is right.

At ATH, had I sold and had it been in my TFSA, I would have saved roughly the cost of a Cayman S.

TFSA is for gambling. You can turn it into 1.5m TFSA sell it all for dividend stocks and collect tax free dividends.

I'd rather gamble with non-registered for the capital loss deduction benefit.

But yes, that's the goal. $1M in TFSA to live on dividends for the rest of time. ~ 70k in dividend yield/yr would be the goal

Went from my peak in April and now almost wiping out all my 2020 gains, feels bad. Still better than cash in the bank though

whitev70r 05-13-2021 04:30 PM

^ it's time to buy.

GIZZ 05-14-2021 06:38 AM

It's been a rough 3 months. I've buying this week, too bad I didn't buy more. An hour in and looking really good.

lilaznviper 05-14-2021 12:52 PM

I actually happened across a couple stocks like that, which I bought in error. Ended up being gold mines, just buying and selling throughout the year. about 40 percent gains at a time. Got used to timing the buy ins.

Ulic Qel-Droma 06-01-2021 01:32 AM

im talking about the theatre... but that metal corp ... LOL

blkgsr 06-02-2021 06:04 AM

what's a realistic value AMC can run up to? GME levels like $400+? Is there a way to see how much is shorted and how that may push up the value?

some realistic input other than "HODL", "DIAMOND HANDS and "APE STRONG" that you get anywhere else lol

Spoon 06-02-2021 08:01 AM

Gamestop is now a $18B company with a bricks and mortar model when all their suppliers have already gone direct to consumer. Only value is killing shorts, I can't see much else.

If someone offered me 10% off market price today but requires me to hold it for a year, I still won't touch it. :lol

blkgsr 06-02-2021 08:49 AM

https://www.bmo.com/stoporders/

can someone explain which option i would want to use at this point for AMC

as the price climbs (or so I hope) I'll keep raising it but i want to ensure i have profits if it does tank

Hard stop order seems like that's the price i'd be willing to sell at?

Sell on stop order sounds like the right one?? current price is say $50.....i set my price at $45 and if the price drops to that point my shares sell?
