can someone explain which option i would want to use at this point for AMC

as the price climbs (or so I hope) I'll keep raising it but i want to ensure i have profits if it does tank

Hard stop order seems like that's the price i'd be willing to sell at?

Sell on stop order sounds like the right one?? current price is say $50.....i set my price at $45 and if the price drops to that point my shares sell?

if you set a limit order to $45 it may or may not get filled at that price depending on the transaction. if it drops too fast it might fill at $40 or even $35. it most likely will get filled at $45 though. i'm not a financial advisor and this is not financial advice but think twice about selling it at $45 lol. sometimes HF will purposely trigger your stop losses and you will miss out.

blkgsr 06-02-2021 09:17 AM

that was just a price example

the actual price is up over $70 now

i'd put it at like $55 or something

yameen 06-02-2021 11:05 AM

my sell limit is $300 right now since gme was around that and that's only about 1/10 of my shares that i'm selling.

Razor Ramon HG 06-02-2021 11:12 AM

Hope you boys make some cheddar.

I missed the boat on AMC ages ago, so I'll sit out and watch from the sidelines.

Not FOMOing into this one especially at this price.

that's the point you'd like to sell that.....i hope it goes that high lol...but i want to cover myself if and when it tanks like GME did

just keep upping my stop loss as the stock price continues to rise

so my question is, which one of those two that i posted is the correct one?

Rallydrv 06-02-2021 12:02 PM

look at post market and pre market tomorrow to see where amc will end at. yay for short sellers!

hopefully see amc going to ~100$ . minimum, every morning is when the push is @

just know that $ can all go to 0, so u know what u r playing with

edit: use stop limit to protect ur initial investment.

Don't chase the hot chick ... a decent looking one that is faithful and loyal is always a better choice.

Rallydrv 06-02-2021 02:12 PM

but some hot chick are slutty

I decided to sell every stock I own 8 days ago based on the second week starting pretty red and the bond yield news the week before and watching some others dump large positions, my gut saved me on that one.

I kept all my leap calls on cruise lines and airlines that I picked up back in Jan.
I also sold a buncha puts that expire in one month for CCL.
Those two are doing fairly well.

Was planning to take some profits around March when this was posted. Felt the markets were a bit frothy but moved too slow. Now that markets are even higher, I took the opportunity to move out of several positions (100% out of lumber, still have 50% oil & uranium, still have all my telcos, some recovery plays like CCL and various preferred shares for cash generation).

Curious what people are holding for those who have or are thinking of cashing out. Just want to look for ideas to keep my money working.

some realistic input other than "HODL", "DIAMOND HANDS and "APE STRONG" that you get anywhere else lol

try looking at finra reports on gme.

Any thoughts on Lion Electric? Based out of Quebec. Seems like they have a lot of growth potential in coming years as they have a variety of electric offerings. They have been delivering trucks to Amazon and CN among others. Also just announced they are building a battery factory.

Did your stop loss get triggered? This is why I dont set a stop loss if you know momentum is still going really strong because it went from -$24 in the morning back to +$5. Those people who had their stop losses triggered are now trying to buy back in most likely.

Hondaracer 06-03-2021 09:55 PM

So this is a bit out of scope for me and was wondering if anyone had any input

Basically my wife holds private shares of a company she used to work for. She also has certificates for options she was awarded after she left as part of an agreement.

We are now looking to exercise some additional options she has available.

The financial guy at her former company recommend western Pacific Trust to hold these shares. I’m not quite familiar with private equities. They likely intend on an ipo in the next few years so a brokerage of some sort that can hold them would be ideal. However I’m assuming this isn’t somthing a personal Qtrade account etc could do?

no because i never got around to setting them....i was watching it through out the day and would have been a great opportunity to buy back in at $38...

Ulic Qel-Droma 06-17-2021 02:19 AM

since last post...

I still hold my cruise line airline recovery 2023 call options

I added crude oil futures march 2022 80 calls which are doing pretty well.

on top of that i've moved on from selling cash secure puts on CCL to selling cash secure puts on AMC.

I've also bought SCR earlier this week. I might sell some cash secured puts on this one as well.

I also hold some XBC, which I sell covered calls on.

Liquid_o2 06-17-2021 10:04 AM

I am confused by SCR. The revenue of the company is not growing - less than 1%. What is with the meteoric climb over the past 6 months?

Razor Ramon HG 06-17-2021 12:25 PM

Single game sports betting

Spoon 06-17-2021 01:56 PM

Funny enough, SCR was on my radar at around $17. Completely missed out.

Didn't dig into their financials much. It was on my list simply because I like their social presence and the fact that they have a niche in eSports; and of course the gambling side of things.

subordinate 06-17-2021 05:51 PM

I goofed and was expecting the fed to cause a bit of unrest and sold 2/3 of my SCR at a minor loss.

Senate meeting tonight looked pretty good.

Still rocking PYR and HPQ. Both could be gamechangers (I know I know, but I expect a push from the EV revolution)

Flipped BB a bunch, hoping to get back in.

Looks like this asset bubble/circus will keep going until something sets it off. Until then, you're definitely better off buying stocks/homes that beat the current inflation.

Thoughts on Bitf? I only scanned it a bit, but backed with 98% renewable energy mining, that could differentiate it from others.

see.lai 06-17-2021 08:05 PM

current plays are AMZN, SHOP, NVDA, ROKU options. Usually scalp between 630am-8am.

However, it looks like it might have been good to hold these over the past month.

whitev70r 09-01-2021 10:08 AM

LSPD legit steady gainer ... >70% in 6 months !!

Of course, in hindsight, I shoulda threw the whole kitchen sink at it and more but ..

whitev70r 09-02-2021 07:47 AM

Took 2 years but Bombardier BBD.D finally turning it around. Might be not too late to get in for some more gains.

But if you didn't get in on LSPD ^ ... it might be too late.

Sure glad my mom told me to buy a few thousand shares at 75c/share

Razor Ramon HG 09-05-2021 01:09 AM

Anyone invested in Southeast Asia?

Looking to add some stocks from that area to my portfolio.

Already have SE. Eyeing AGC for Grab. Have BTWN (reportedly Tokopedia or Traveloka).

since this post...

still hold cruise/airline recover '23 call options

took profits on my oil option before the down turn to negative.

SCR got bought out, up like 80% or something. Still holding.

AMC volatility dropped a lot so selling options on that wasn't really a thing, but lately it's been running up again, might get back into selling more.

still holding XBC, won't add on till it goes above my entry.

I've also started to sell bull put spreads on e-mini sp500 futures, making about 20% a month compounded bi-weekly. If the market gets too red, i'll prob stop doing that and find something else to do.

The sp500 dropped sharply every month on the 17-18-19th... but it came a week earlier this month, I take it as a danger sign. might only do 1/3 or 1/2 of usual spreads, or none at all.
