son of a... fuck.

at 1207 noon today i was watching the emini sp500.

nice big ass green then red bar (i call it the raver glow sticks formation), so the current bar is a small green, perhaps i can sell it at a higher price put in a stop above the raver sticks and catch a big windfall.

but wait, i have to take a huge ass shit, my stomach is grumbling, it feels like an air bubble is trying to work its way UP my intestines and perhaps even rip through it and makes its way into my bloodstream. i know i can temporarily release some pain by letting a quiet one out, but ... no i can't take the chance, it could turn messy.

i put in my stop and a sell limit at 98000.

watch it for a few seconds. *aw fuck it* i think, i cancel all orders and run to take a shit.

im a retard. im such a retard. of course by the time i come back its way the fuck down at 96550, and it did come back and touch 98000, but i probably wouldnt of gotten that price.

of course it continues to drop like mad and makes new lows at 94900

next investment: a small kiddy portapotty on my office seat.

EPIC +oneoneone111!!one

rule # 0: eat nothing during a market session, blood suger makes you do stupid stuff and in case of diarrhea, your portfolio goes down the drain as well.

Feast on KFC after closing bell always

What are everyone's thoughts on the big fertilizer companies like POT, TRA, MOS and AGU in the short term (4ish months?).
These companies made me a bundle in June, but have taken huge hits lately.

Second thing is, what do people thing about natural gas in the coming winter months? is it worth going into natural gas stocks like CHK?

Jackwimmer 10-28-2008 11:57 AM

damn making so much money these days.....

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-28-2008 04:17 PM

wouwou 10-29-2008 11:46 AM

God I love a day like this

ABX went double digit increase yesterday and double today again

clean up all my holdings at 9ish into Canadian dollars and puff .77->8.3

:D:D

I am happy

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-29-2008 02:21 PM

yes
i love today as well. SP500 and crude treated me well.

GrantPersall 10-29-2008 05:24 PM

^ Good job. Just make sure you keep following the plan and you'll be a millionaire before the Olympics.

wouwou 11-05-2008 08:28 AM

Shit my heart is pounding like mad right now

What's crazier than going ultrashort after an election?

going ultrashort on margin :D:D

I love the adrenalin rush, makes you want to puke and come at the same time.

edit: also wants to cry and laugh at the same time, while listening to Britney Spears.

Rev 11-05-2008 09:14 AM

lol I'm not on margin, but I'm on short side too

DOG and DUG doing well so far, I think we have a bit of ways to go *down*

Some analysts are going with $50/oil - election rally can only last so long before more grim news come out (ie. AIG burning thru $150 billion, ford/chrysler wanting more money from socialist Obama, auto unions, etc etc)

wouwou 11-05-2008 09:17 AM

I got out of everything just now, would have been so 5 mins earlier but

FUCKING QUESTRADE has another "unscheduled website maintenance"

Fuck that is IT, I am switching.

Question for the day traders out there. Is day trading feasable for someone who can only do it a couple days a week. On the other days, I will not beable to folow up on news etc.

yes and no.

No if your planning to play with volatilite and derivatives =)

Yes if you just plan to do a buy a stock, hold it for 3 days sell.

thats how i got started day trading. I Bought something, held for 3 days then sold. (play with saferstocks)

you DAY trade. you dont hold anything over night so there's no reason for worrying about sudden moves over night.

wouwou 11-05-2008 01:16 PM

Shit I got out too early and made 8% less than I would have.

I hate feelings like this

Stocks plunge as investors ponder Obama presidency

Stocks plunge as anxious investors ponder impact of Obama presidency on business, economy

NEW YORK (AP) -- A case of postelection nerves sent Wall Street plunging Wednesday as investors absorbed a stream of bad economic news and wondered how a Barack Obama presidency will help the country weather a possibly severe recession. Volatility returned to the market, with the Dow Jones industrials falling nearly 500 points and all the major indexes tumbling more than 5 percent.

The market was expected to give back some gains after a six-day runup that lifted the Standard & Poor's 500 index more than 18 percent. But investors lost their recent confidence about the economy and began dumping stocks again; light volume helped exaggerate the price swings.

"The market has really gotten ahead of itself, and falsely priced in that this recession wasn't going to be as prolonged as thought," said Ryan Larson, head of equity trading at Voyageur Asset Management, a subsidiary of RBC Dain Rauscher.

____________

Case in point, didn't we have an "Election Rally" yesterday? Didn't someone say election rally would last 60 days following?

NEWS CHANGE EVERYDAY. There is so much media out there, no one cares about accountability of what they say.

"Oh oops I made a bad call on Bear Sterns" - Jim Cramer

Ouch - I hope you're not those people who buys what he says to buy on the show - cuz you would've lost 95% if not more the same week!

I agree with Ulic - too much pop media = you lose your senses of direction. Not asking for you to be completely clueless and thinking Jeremy Clarkson is your prime minister, but trust your instincts, macroeconomics, indicators, and overall fundamentals.

wouwou 11-05-2008 01:59 PM

^ I thought the saying was "market shows a positive side within 60 days time frame of an election", not 60 days always up?

And come on, just admit you guys have a recession already, you know it, I know it, stop using "possible" already, Americans lol

Come to the next stock market group meeting being held at the end of the month.

!LittleDragon 11-05-2008 07:15 PM

Here's what I've been doing that's been working for me so far. I dunno if it works or if it's pure luck. I've been keeping an eye on the daily biggest losers. If the company looks sound, chart looks good and I can't see any reason why their stock is that low then I buy and hold for a while.

wouwou 11-07-2008 09:03 AM

If anyone is reading,

I believe there is a triple top right now on DOW

throw in the G 3 billion loss and textbook bear market rally,

GET OUT NOW if you are in it

TRDood 11-13-2008 11:26 PM

say you have $100 (just to make it easier), what would you buy in the next big hit?

before i get into the market, i would like to see other people's views

my list:

20% AIG (just because it's so cheap)
20% AAPL
20% PCZ
20% MA
20% MS, BAC, or JPM

i know they are all from DOW but what are some good or examples of TSX stocks? are they worth it?

I'm predicting a 7000 bottom in the next 3 months. hopefully it hits that so I'll feel more confident in the market....
