I believe Ford has the better products, they have a few euro cars coming but most importantly, they have more cash than GM does so I think they're in better shape out of the big3 to survive the recession.

Yes, I agree with you. Ford is in better shape than GM.

^Buy Ford stocks, and GM bonds. Yes they are rated junk, but they have so many assets the risk is quite low, comparatively.

On the other hand, I sold GG 2 days ago and got back in for 24 something yesterday, just built my position on ABX.TO. TSX because I plan to hold it for long term and the exchange rate is changing too fast for my liking.

Let hope the Fed cuts interest rate yet again

Bought Ford at $2.01 today, didn't get up early enough to get it cheaper. Was up like 33% at one point, now there's some profit taking going on but I'm holding it for 2-3 weeks, maybe longer...

4 consecutive green days in a row?
With all the bad economic news this week I wasn't expecting such a big gain today.
I guess they had to make the market green so everyone will be happy going into Thanksgiving.
Getting closer to my target at spy 90-91. Just need another BS speech from Obama and we'll probably reach that target.

uhmm market is open tomorrow, but just closed at 10 pst i believe. Volume will be too low to actually matter though. Everyone is just waiting for the weekend to pass to see what kind of black friday figures we are actually looking at..

^I meant the NYSE, the one with the most volume.

TSX is weak sauce compare to that.

The National Bureau of Economic Research of the US finally said that America is in a recession since Dec 2007

Well it only took them 1 year to make it official

Got out of my puts too early. $%!#
Was expecting a bounce at some point.
This market is dropping like a turd. If this continues then I wouldn't be suprised to make new lows by the end of the week.

because there is no stock that is good to buy.

ultrashort takes too much time to follow and by the time I finish typing up a post it changes from a "strong buy" to "sell or lose your first born"

The market has been really hard to trade the past couple of days.
Best to just sit on the sidelines and watch which trend develops.
Right now we're pretty much in no man's land.

8650 is important resistance here on the DOW.
If we break through then we break one of the short-term downtrends and we can have a rally towards 8800-9000 again.

Broke through intraday resistance at 8550. Still needs to break through 8650 downtrend line to remain bullish.
Unemployment numbers coming out end of this week. Will need to see how the market reacts to this information.

^another year is fine, and accounting grads always have a better chance at finding a job.

all that affects is the starting salary you are going to get

I cant believe there are still "casual" day-traders here..

with today's market, it can go either way just as easy as flipping a coin and there are no explanations for them.

heck, the market is up 150 right now despite the worst job cut in 35 years at loss of 533K jobs in November!

This market is probably a daytrader's dream come true.
They can make more money in one day than they would've in one year when the market was stable.
This market is only for professional daytraders though.
The opposite holds true if your not on the right side of the trade when the market tanks or rallies.
I missed HIG's 100+% gain...that would've bagged someone 900+% return in options...holy shit.
Whoever dipped into those babies just became a whole lot richer.
