LVS is such a volatile stock, last Thursday it gained like 35% then crashed hard on the Friday. It has these unusual sudden spikes in midday also.

The best China can do is to stabilize themselves right now. The won't be able to pull rest of the world out that is for sure. Also the market is desperate for a rally on any little bit of good news now.

I built a position in MS today, hoping for some good news from the weekend. God knows how long financials will continue to be sold off though..

Getting in on FAS yesterday was a terrible mistake. I took a heavy loss on that. Should've stuck with FAZ when I purchased it at $87.

Today's market isn't doing that much better. FAZ reached new highs AGAIN. I was able to recover much of yesterday's loss. Now I'm only down a few hundred.

Anyone take advantage of QID as well?

if they do suspend M2M we might actually see a good rally but I do agree economic news & indicators still grim out there

^I am way too busy with work to play FAS/FAZ, company just won 2 big projects that will by themselves run the company for the next 2 years.

And family stuff really isnt helping, I am literally busy starting from 6am to 7pm daily.

I loaded up some ABX and G, but that's it. I think I missed the bottom on Monday grrr

I'm new to investing. I've taken a finance course and have read a couple books but have yet to make my first trade. I'm about to set up a Scotia itrade account, is this a good one to use? My initial plan is to hold for a longer term, as I gain experience, I'll make more trades. I plan on starting with about $5000 that I would like to hold for a term of 3-4 years.

I was thinking about putting some of it in LVS, would this be a decent stock to hold for a few years? Others I am considering are SIRI and possibly GM but both seem pretty risky risky. I'm fine with with losing the money but I'd rather it amount to something so I have more funds available for when I learn more. Is there any stocks that you recommend I look into? What are good books to read? Any info you can provide me with is much appreciated.
