I was thinking about putting some of it in LVS, would this be a decent stock to hold for a few years? Others I am considering are SIRI and possibly GM but both seem pretty risky risky. I'm fine with with losing the money but I'd rather it amount to something so I have more funds available for when I learn more. Is there any stocks that you recommend I look into? What are good books to read? Any info you can provide me with is much appreciated.

I have some shares in LVS and i really believe in a year or 2, the stock will take off...do your own DD..and ask yourself do you think las vegas will become a desert again. Thats the question i ask myself when i see 20% swings in the stock, quite volatile when u look at it everyday.

CHRIST! ABX took off after 11:00am pst for a 10% gain and didn't stop till it blasted all 5 levels pivot resistance! I wonder what kind of news was released...

I should've cut my losses in C for the day and jumped ship. Its a good thing I was also in FAS for a nice 25% gain

Loving FAS again! In fact, I'm still holding!

We're in the same boat. I looked at the market on its lowest day and thought "today", but couldn't put my money where my mouth is.

Well, I'm not the person to rely on for this advice, so don't let this hold too much weight. But everything I'm reading does not support a bull market. Personally, I'm holding out for prices that are lower than current.

I am loading up FAZ and SKF..
Look for a strong pullback very shorty. . . . the US market doesn't look good after that $1 trillion dollar news.
Say bye bye to US dollars.

1st quarter earnings are coming up and I feel the banks fudge some numbers...just my gut feeling. We might just see a bulls market if the banks see some decent earnings.

my 2cents.

just checked..citigroup ended in the green. wow.

^doesnt matter if the banks are positive now, after the 90% bonus tax yesterday.

The outlook for them is bleek, as any decent financial company employees with household earning >250,000 will be taxed to death, I wont be surprised if they all move to China now lol.

Personally I would have load up FAZ, but I dont have the time to watch it so I am only holding G and ABX. on the TSX as a longer term play right now.

not trying to bash you jackwimmer, but what are you basing your statements on.
I hope you aren't basing it on Geithner's plan to receive money from private investors. I'm sure they'll be excited knowing what happened to the AIG bonuses can happen to them.

i simply let trdood know it wasn't gonna be down today
i based it on geithner's plan and how the asian markets reacted to it, considering they are delayed one day compared to the N.A. markets, they were actually up(when we were down last trading day)

is the run were having today gonna hold? well thats a question i cant answer lol
but i believe housing resales are up today in the states so thats somewhat good news
