the day gm filed for bankruptcy protection, the stock price jumped 18%? why did that happen?

for those of you holding US securities and planning to hold for at least 6m-1y, how are you coping with the falling US dollar? when i put the majority of my cash into my US account i was getting a .78 exchange, now its like .92... still up quite a bit because of the rally, but wondering what the future holds for the dollar

dont they normally charge for that service? LOL so i'd be out both ends..paying for the stock, commission, and service fee, and a frame, and a box of tissues

GM is still trading but it's a gamble. I took a similar gamble with Lehman when they went down, threw a couple hundred bucks that I could spare at .01 and sold it when it shot up to .24. If you can take the loss, go for it.

If ur planning to hold ur equities for 6mo to 1 yr, I would suggest you to cash in more USD to bring down ur cost avg for ur exchange rate. In the short term, the usd will keep tanking but over the long haul USD will be a better hold den CDN, so you dont have to worry about your equities position

my opinion could be biased since Im holding lots of US equity and am LONG on most of my positions but i will be sure to be changing most of my CDN into Greenbacks soon as it hits par again.

Im too scared to play those 3x etf now adays..cant predict them, cant hold them :confused:.. so i guess i will just stick with the things i know...

but overall i feel that the sentiment aint as negative compare to few months ago.. but who knows maybe there will be a pull back.. so i guess i will just be patient n wait..

I sold half my position EOD yesterday. A rally like that with no news isn't going to last. To be honest, I was gonna hold this til the end of the year. Yesterday was just a gift :D
