anyone into the mining sector know anything about KWG resources? TSXV-KWG

ive been reading up on them recently and they have a large exploration in their "Big Daddy Chromite deposit" in northern ontario which they have partial interest in

supposidely could be the worlds largest deposit, as well giants such as Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF:NY), 19.9% ownership buying into it which seems to support at least strong interest

http://www.kwgresources.com/_resources/fact_sheet.pdf

just somthing ive been looking at was wondering if anyone else has heard anything regarding the area, quite a few companies there and surrounding

Just starting to get into investing. Been on investopedia and learning as much as I can in the last few days ...a bit overwhelming. Just wondered what people on here were thinking about NBG ? ( National Bank of Greece). The Eu basically said that they are prepared to give them a huge bailout if they should need it. Is this is a good buy?

Cant really say if its a good buy or not because i dont know what is ur time horizon and attitude towards with trading , however, i can point out a few simple facts "using some basic multiples" so everyone can understand about this company. After which, you can make the judgement urself.

In the near term, there will be lots of volatility within this company because of macro related factors. However, base on the last 5 years avg, the company had a price/book of 2.5 and price/sale of 3.0. At current PPS, current price/book is around 1.1 and price/sale is around 1.4

top line and bottom line has been growing steadly all the way upto 08, which is reasonable because of this financial crisis.

They have a tier 1 ratio of 11.3%, that is better than alot of the us banks out there.

I can go on and on about this company but i will leave it right here.

DISCLOSURE: LONG, ULTRA LONG, accumulated alot of shares inbetween mid to high 3s

I will also attach a 10yr income statement , and a link to Nbg's 2009 reults for ur reference

Link to 2009 results

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply...All of that went totally over my head which makkes me think I am not exactly ready to leave investopedia for investing in real cash yet.
However I would say that my time horizon is short term. Looks like I have more reading to do!

Hollyshiit 04-12-2010 06:32 AM

^ if ur time horizon is more on the short term, u should spend more time in T.A.

short for technical analysis

Curious as to what you guys think of JOEZ
A jean company that has been moving up lately.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=joez
There are various companies setting targets above what they are trading for. How much faith do you put in reports like that?

I'm not going to say buy or don't buy but keep in mind EPS is over-inflated over TTM because of the income tax expense of (16)M. If you back that out (it's a one-time thing), TTM EPS is in the realm of 0.10/share and not 0.33/share. Which gives it a P/E of closer to 29 rather than 7.xxx.

You might want to note that they came out with earnings the other day and missed expectations.

MOT
F
ATVI
BBI
NEXM

I'm thinking of buying into ATVI now as well with all the new games coming out very very soon so thanks for sharing =) One question about BBI though, do you think their drops could be due to the fact that a lot of people are now downloading all their movies instead of going to rent them?

sorry i didnt check this for awhile...

atvi has been pretty decent for me.. so far..
F.. AWSOME
BBI i got scared and bailed lol. but lookin good now from when i bought it. if only i held on longer =(

Does anyone know the march/april report for Toyota?

ilvtofu 04-25-2010 08:47 PM

Anyone following CVE:EIL?

waddy41 04-26-2010 08:11 AM

I am very amateur when it comes to investing so take my advice with a grain of salt...
- The steel industry is very competitive, with a lot of pressure from the US and outside of NA.
- For the industry, the margins are slim. Bigger companies survive because they have achieved economies of scale.
Unless you know that they are in a niche market, I wouldn't buy.
As well, how does the strong CAD/weak USD help or hurt the company?

This is how I would approach EIL: Instead of buying new wheels, I would buy EIL instead. If I profit, then that's good; maybe I'll buy some nice tires too. If I lose money, then I lose the wheels...

anyone holding C, get out! the US government is selling 1.5B of their shares soon

lonelydriver 05-06-2010 01:44 PM

Wow.. Accenture was down to $0.01 for a few minutes before rebounding to ~$40. I could have made a huge profit  - probably caused by a computer error but still..

lol crazy day

no_clue 05-06-2010 02:07 PM

wow today was a bloodbath, hopefully tommorow will show some nice gains if you bought today.

as for accenture, I think the trade wouldn't have gone through, but man if it did...
$1000 would have been $4 100 000 in 2 minutes lol

It certainly was an interesting hour between 2 and 3pm. Everybody including me were trying to buy anything and everything we could when we saw the Dow drop like a rock.

Well... a trade has to go through for a stock to hit that level so someone out there sold at a penny and someone bought at a penny.

Rumor seems to be that the effects of a computer glitch was compounded by program trading.

no_clue 05-06-2010 02:30 PM

i heard they are reversing all trades during the error timeframe

waddy41 05-06-2010 03:45 PM

oh god i bought early this week.....what a mistake

When doing TA...what's the time frame you guys usually look at? 3, 6 or 12 months?

1.7El_guy 05-06-2010 10:24 PM

my cibc platform lagged, was trying to buy things on panic but my order didnt kick in...kicking myself for the missed opportunity. easy few gs here...and i dont think they're reversing all trades during that timeframe.

im pretty sure everyone is setting limit buy orders 30% below market prices haaaa...the new trend of trading, wait for glitches.

1 year.

Sorry to hear that. DJIA showed a downward trend with the stochastics, MACD and MA shifting down on Monday. Can't go against the tide that's for sure.
