Let's just hope the treasury market sell-off (in a significant way) to get the curve steepened again. 10-Year yielding below 2.8 and 30-Year below 4 are pretty insane. It is also something we need to see, in order for the market to resume the uptrend.

Just did some light reading in the last few and first couple of pages here. I take it that it's not worth investing $500-$700 a month in stocks? Save up a few thousand and then take the plunge?

I think I've been bitten by the bug ever since I took stock options from my company.

I picked up some mining ventures last week cuu.v and wcx.v(up 20% today). I wish I timed everything this good haha.

The keg restauraunt income fund has been doing alright/stable for me as well if you include the dividends which work out to be roughly 10% a year depending what price you buy at.

But seriously, you will barely able to cover the commissions from just the buying and selling of shares. If you just want to just play around and not be serious about it, you will still need at least $5,000 I say. Otherwise what's the point of holding 4 shares of AAPL. I don't mean to discourage you or anything, but you do need a large chunk of initial capital, in order to make some decent money in any asset class.
What about penny stocks? I'm just starting to get into investing myself. A few hundred should get you at least 100 shares of penny stocks right?

I wouldn't recommend investing in penny stocks...
1. There's rarely any news on them.
2. They are penny stocks for a reason, no proven assets (else they wouldn't be penny stocks) so there is that high risk.
3. Better chances at other companies.

t8v6: you mean a dollar will buy you 100 shares?

also penny stocks not as liquid as regular stocks...
if you want to pay for a few hundred dollars just go to the casino...

Yes, IMO this will be a $4 stock in the near future.

My buddy just came back from Tanzania visiting the CAN property and although I won't go into detail here, everything looks to be on track

CUU.V was a good buy for me last week. Up 50% so far. Lots of news coming in the next few months as well. I'm going to load up on this one.

wow, I just looked up when I first posted in this thread to buy CAN, Oct, 2009, seems like a lifetime ago. I've been patient enough and been accumulating since, still have my .10 and .14 CAN stock
