you need a referral by your doctor. it's the skin care centre near vgh. it's address is 810 west 10th 3rd floor. it's not as cheap as you think it is. it counts by per session and he's charging me minimum $200 base fine. so if i remove 11 moles for $200, my second session will still be $200 even if i have 5 moles remaining. he's sneaky tho and purposely left some moles half assed done so i would go back a 2nd time. if he still leaves some moles after my 2nd try, i'm not going back for the third UNLESS i really have to. depending on how many you have on your face, he'll charge less. goodluck!

oh i had 2 that was right below my eye. i don't know why they charge you extra since it's just a zap and that's it. what do they charge you extra for? for being more careful? i don't see what it does unless your procedure was different.

Djiban 12-29-2006 12:56 AM

hey tekno, did it hurt?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 12-29-2006 09:25 PM

i got mine zapped at a doctor's prolly about 4 years ago, mine was raised with deep pigmentation.... went 2x and didn't work for me, so i said "fuck it" and left well enough alone.

right now i have 3-4 that are raised up but feels like a scab. the 2-3 extra ones that he zapped on my arm i tested one by scratching one of them and the mole kinda peeled off like skin. should i leave it alone? i don't wanna screw up my face but i don't want the laser gone to waste allowing the mole to stay.

Djiban: it hurts for the first 2 hours. it's not excruciating pain like everyone says it is but it's just like a needle for a split second per mole.

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 12-30-2006 08:34 AM

well from what i've heard, if you scratch it off it'll scar. what happened to me was since the mole was raised, he had to kinda flatten the thing first, then zap it, and it created a lil crater... i didn't touch it and left it alone, healing process was it would scab...

after the second time i zapped it and the healing was done.... it did form a scab like thing... but it didn't fall off, and now everything looks as though I haven't touched it at all and no laser thingy was ever done to it. i don't exactly want to go through the zapping and waste that kind of money again.

Djiban: i second Tekno-Gts on the pain part, it's like a bee sting for a split second, then a warming sensation....my doctors woud ice it for me... i dunno if all doctors would do that though.

babyshortie 12-30-2006 10:32 AM

mine turned into really big scabs..and eventually fell off about 2 weeks later...

its been 6 months..and i'm still in the healing process...the pigments are gone..but the skin is slowly very slowly healing..they told me about 6-9 months for it to completely heal. but i'm thinking at least a year

when the scabs came off it was red like new skin

i started using something called, la mer the concentrate and the moisturizing cream on the spots i got it done, it helps with the process a little but the stuff is insanely expensive. its supposed to help it not scar and heal faster

yameen 12-31-2006 01:29 PM

if it takes a year to heal...would it be a good idea to get it lasered again after a month? my doctor told me to go back in for a second session in february but it might not even have healed by then. now i'm kinda wondering. spending $200 on cosmetics is something i really hate to do.

babyshortie 12-31-2006 05:42 PM

they say to wait a few months before going back for a second session, i think its 3 months or something. the healing just depends on how big and the person i suppose, but i don't think it has to be healed to the point where u can't even tell anything was there before just as long as the skin as recovered a large amount

i don't think i would go to a beauty salon to do laser removal, unless it was hair. For birthmarks and what not, going to a physician to do it would be best.

They give you this "cream" to put on the spot of the day of your treatment to numb the area...

I didn't have a mole, but a small bump on my nose and i remember it being not that bad. But I guess that was because of the anesthetic.

i didn't get a cream or anything...just a laser and off i go. my scabs all came off within a week which is amazingly fast and i'd say 10/14 moles on my face came off while there's still 4 remaining. as i said earlier, it would still cost me $200 to remove 4 so do you guys think i should goto a beauty salon to get the remaining 4 removed for a cheaper price?

Just wondering; the pain is like nothing basically? Or is it something to worry about?

Also what's weird is I have 2 moles on my face it's just like a small black dot(it's not puffed up or anything). Would it be fast to heal or would it have any scars?

Ones on my left cheek and ones up a bit on my nose near the middle of the eyes.

The only thing worried about this procedures is the scaring. Is everyones moles healing or healed? or Do some of you have scars?

Because my family doctor recommended me to some specialist for this stuff but this specialist was only able to do "cutting" not laser treatment because my family doctor told me that if you do laser the mole might react to it and cause cancer or something on the lines of that. Also I talked to the receptionist via phone for the specialist and asked her if the "cutting" method would scar and she answered "most likely", So than I just quickly canceled my appointment.

What do you guys think?

TTT? lol

SilverT 06-10-2007 09:38 PM

I had it done at Kitty's. I did it two times and the dot is still not gone. It's scarring too. They just phoned me again a couple of days ago so I can go in for one more itme.

babyshortie 06-10-2007 10:08 PM

welcome to my world..for 2/3 of my dots..pigments appeared again and so i went back for another treatment..

all of mine look like scars, so i've been doing micro dermabrasion sessions to get rid of them...

apparently the micro derm breaks up the pigments and fade them...but it takes 3-6 sessions before major results

i've done 2 sessions so far..right after i get it done, i do see some pigments broken away from the original location

they also recommended a amino acid gel to use at night, its like a mild chemical peel..so it peels away more layers of the skin

WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS, i'm pretty sad its turned out this way

laser mole removal before and after Is Not Impossible Anymore. As with any surgical procedure, there are side effects you must be aware of if you’re considering mole removal using lasers. Although the procedure is quite safe and inexpensive, there are always possibilities of negative side effects. For more info visit: http://lasermoleremovalsite.com/
