Hey, Does anyone need a downpipe?
I'm getting a Borla cat-back from some guy on SupraForums that lives in Vancouver. He's got a "Japanese DP with no cat" that he'll throw in for $25 if anyone's interested. I can't use it but $25 sounds like a good deal - maybe I'll eBay it.

Anyway, he says the cat-back is a 2.5" mandrel-bent stainless steel with a Borla "Blow-Torch" muffler that has a 4.25" tip. All for $125 :D

Enraged 03-14-2003 08:04 AM

sweet, good deal!

what happened to buying Mr WRXs parents car? and didnt you mention something about losing your license?

SilverMK3 03-14-2003 08:09 AM

Meh...
I talked to the banks, they'll lend me $5K but I'd have to pay it back at $200/mo - with gas prices right now I don't think I could afford to run a turbo. Also yeah - I've lost my license for 2 months :(

Too many bills to pay right now I guess, student loans suck. If its still for sale in the summer I might go look at it - but then again it all depends on how much I can get for my car.

Enraged 03-14-2003 10:55 AM

ya, if its going to be tight, dont bother. save up some cash and get one when you can afford it.

remmber turbo cars are great on gas but there is thing called boost and it had not to use it

turbo are better on gas then the na if you don't boost and driv elike norm

i have had both so i know

Paradox 03-14-2003 06:46 PM

the door stickers on supras when they came out, showed that the turbo supra actually got better gas mileage than the NA.. which i guess could be true, if you drive like a dead gramma.

Enraged 03-17-2003 05:50 PM

Hey, I just bought a K&N filter and adapter for my 89 turbo off ebay. After I paid for it I realised that I might not have been for turbo model, does it really matter? The person who sold it to me on Ebay says it fits N/A, but I was just wondering what you guys think. Can i addapt it, or will it just fit? Any one done this?

Thanks.

Darin

Enraged 03-18-2003 06:05 PM

NA and turbo have different AFMs, so the adapter wont work, but you can still use the filter.

NashMan 03-18-2003 06:06 PM

well it will not work cause the bolt patten is not the same but drilling hole in it so the bolt line up may work never tried it but eh the whoupd be you only hope other wise sol

accordian

I got the part, and finally going to replace that accordian hose that's beginning to develop a crack. Also, I put in an order for the K&N FIPK.

Is there any noticable throttle response difference after installing that kit?

yes and no

well you notice power most likly not but may just a bit will the car sound diffetn yes it will you will hear you bov more and you will hear turbine nose as well and that the coolist sound int he world

untell you start to up the boost the diff is very littel but does it do some thign yes it does is it good to run yes it is

Paradox 03-20-2003 12:35 AM

you could always shim the wastegate if you're hurting for cash

http://www.supras.com/sogi/techtips/...ing/index.html

NashMan 03-20-2003 08:44 AM

only shim 3 washer thou then you be safe and not hit fuel cut and not stressing the acwater

!Mpower 03-20-2003 11:20 AM

ppl say 1/16" washers?

fuzebox 03-20-2003 12:46 PM

I just used whatever washers I could find at home depot, worked fine. Had to use some longer bolts though (had some lying around from when I did my diff swap in my miata, they were perfect size and length).

A ball+spring MBC is a better solution though, and can be had for < $20.

Do you have a dp + exhaust yet?

NashMan 03-20-2003 12:55 PM

you had to get loger bolts you must have put mroe then 3 wasres on then

as for exhaust that is the best thign you can do for your car i can get custom ones made for really really cheap like 300 bucks whiht downpipe as well but you got pic you muffler thou that just piping and if you in that root should get nice high flow cat that will cost mroe caus eyou have smog laws there but you may still pass i did whe i had no cats on my na that ran rich of of tweaks i did
