ive never ripped the tranny out of a supra, but im sure theres some big differences between the 5spd and auto... being the overly complex cars that they are. |
you will need a ecu just not master cyclber or slave but you will havew ot find ecu |
i think you're vice versa NashMan, i did a bunch of searches on supraforums and came to the conclusion that a automatic ECU will work with 5spd. i dunno about the swap tho, the tranny i have now is all electronically controlled, and would be a real bitch to change properly. i talked to a guy who's done tranny work for me before today, hes really good and thinks i should just get a higher stall torque converter and maybe a shift kit, with a rebuild. im undecided, hes going to get back to me tommorow with prices and what he can find. i was thinking of maybe doing a N/A rear end too, but after the cars boosted high the N/A rearend will just spin the tires, no traction at all, and highway idle speeds are much higher, im gonna stick with my gearing. the ratio's were changed in 89+ supra's to a even lower ratio, so i imagine my top speed is pretty damn high considering ive heard of 87 supra's doing 160mph.. heheh |
do you know what i find funny thou is the calbration will not mach if you did not use a the right ecu caues i says ring on the ecu box m and at one being for each diffetn car you will most likel get code erros all teh time i just whould not avise it ps if you ketp use 87 octain you whould ahve melted hole in you pistons useing 87 at high boost you whould have really fucked you eninge up if you ketp doing that as for the na diff you whould not spin the tire that easy caues auto tranny is easyer on the tiers as for shift kit see what happens when you boost high your tans might take it so find out frist caues atuo tranny rebuil run about 2000 or so to take like 500 real house the auto trans can take about as much as the 5 speed r15 it wil hold about 400 rwh the say it stand that it being old and such but the real numder is 450 but that is when ti brand spanking new well back to the car ot work on it |
yeah, im a dork for putting in 87 octane, good thing i was only running 9psi and didnt drive the car too hard.... what are you doing to your car now, NashMan? |
the wireing and and heater core i done the heater core that in and good now the wireing and some body fi4es ect you know me i have to tinker whiht every thing |
so you guys think i can do my brakes myself? im goin to sears to buy a torque wrench tomorrow, craftsmen, lifetiem warranty, only $99 1/2" drive or $89 for 3/8" drive. ive got the rotors, the pads, caliper paint, and the toyota dealership can get a caliper rebuild kit for $33 in about 2 days if i need it. im still thinking about cadmium plating the rotors, it would mean another 2-4 days downtime, but it might be worth it. heres a quote from powerslot.com for you paradox: "...drilling delivers considerably less active braking surface, 108% less than Power Slot. And drilled and slotted rotors deliver 153% less swept area than Power Slot." oh they are plated from the factory! sweet! |
get em done by marlon at pennisula! and yeah i know my cross drilled/slotted rotors suck, but atleast they dont heat up! :D i'll prolly go powerslot next time around.. |
ohh yeah, and blue calipers on a burgandy car? dude... best hope your car is painted before you get wheels to expose those |
lol shutup :( maybe ill return it, and get red instead? |
it all wont matter until you have exposed rims hell, paint em pink! nobody will see! |
pink no that is to manly well i have pin point my bad wirieng kinda so now i just got fix it all i whould rater just get new wireing but i can find any master craft don't support the yanks go canada master craft |
1 Attachment(s) teehee! :D hows this? |
now that si what i call sweet pink and all hehehe any way thous are th rims i was thinking on getting if i ever buy rims my ca ris back on the road got my top spee don prspet lake road heheh between 80 to 160 |
cool, Nashman, try and keep your car together this time! hehhe i just got word from MVP.... my Greddy 20g should be here in 2-3 weeks, atleast thats what they say. i sure hope theyre right this time! i havent even been driving my car lately.... im running real rich now and think im gonna have to get a AFPR, im waiting on jeff to finish up the steel braided hose kit first.... |
the guy producing the dp that im buying finally got his final copy done, so it was sent off for production on friday! looks like about a month away from getting to me! it is "similar" to the defcon pipe that eliminates the turbo elbow.... claims of 75 rwhp from the dp alone.... i doubt its that big, but even half that and ill be happy :) so nashman you better have the cash when it comes if you still want to buy the 2nd one. if not, ill have another stainless steel dp to sell to someone else for US$300, while it will be selling online for around US$425...... gotta love hookups, eh? hehe |
how about this might trade my amp off for it and bov as well for my amp or vesia versa or even my subs |
no, i need the cash for it, its goin on my Mastercard.... sorry... i think im stickin with one amp anyways, i dont really need a second one, ive never even hooked up my new subs. |
my big popa amp for you down pip humm that sounds like good deal caues you chould sell it for more just think my amp is 1400 new 800 is good deal to sellit for and stuff |
why dont you try and sell the amp before the d/p comes in? just a thought, if you're willing to trade it for something worth 300 bux, i bet you could easily get 300 if you sold it to one of the stereo shops in victoria |
yae maybe but i do not know |
Woohoo!!! I'm at the 1/2 way point on my repairs! Wanna see what the rear end of the supra looks like without the rear crossmember / axles? http://portfolio.itas.mala.bc.ca/dnu...rwash/diff.jpg The new struts are at the shop right now getting getting the old springs swapped onto them. The rotors that came with with the junkyard crossmember are all rusted to shit, they said it would come right off after I started using my brakes - but I dunno, its gonna look pretty lame if I get new rims and the rotors are all rusted. How much is it for "performance" rotors? I don't wanna shell out the cash for Brembo's and the stock Toyota parts are probably just as much, is there a cheaper alternative that's still good? |
nashman, if you dont have the cash then ya ill trade, i would just rather have the cash thats all. im havin the kind of day where if someone cuts me off im going to get out of my car and punch them in the fuckin head. just thought i should share |
and just rip off your side veiw mirro and though it at them hehehehe but i got to ask pardox some thing frist how homw many k's do your car have tell me caue if you bump your hp you my fucke the eneing up caues the nock you told me about the other day can mean that you ebneing i not int eh tip top shape you wan tit it be in |
