well he did for me sorta... but im not there anymore thank god... i was bored in class today... so i got to thinking... i wonder if i could model the front brake assembly, down to the 0.01" probably... then set it up with different rotors to see about making adapters for brake rotors and calipers... eventually make a file for the CNC.... i gotta talk to a few teachers, but i know i can get access to the CNC... hmmmm... |
well the mos comon cheep upgrade to the mrk 3 for brakes that i know will work is mrk 4 brakes and rotor's in the rear and 91 land curose brakes up fron useing stock rotors 2 psiotn vs one mis steel bradied lines and nice sloveted or drilled or what ever up fornt got some good brakeing power for a good price |
im thinking about using a MKIV front rotor with another stock toyota caliper, possibly from one of the trucks.... its wouldnt be bolt on, youd have to machine the rotors to fit over the MKIII hub, and you have to make an adapter to place the caliper where you need to. |

and if it did work as for fit ment wise that can be doen the calper will not be useing all the rotor |
I have 275 x 40x 17 Nittos. Triple 5's (555) I would get ET drags if you have the hp to use them;) Duane |
they fit if you mill the hub, or you can just chuck the rotor onto a lathe and take about 5mm off the inside... and i know, i would need 17s to fit bigger brakes. and what do you mean the caliper wont use the whole rotor? it all depends on the size of the caliper and placement.... |
most cause the rotor will warp under brakeing i read a big thing about trying to do this wiht mrk 4 roto it just will nto work peoepl have tired and end up not happy best bet is to keep the stock rotor and pic up land cures calperers you will have to drill the hole littel bigger then they will fit same with the mrk 4 in the rear the front just don't work form what i ahve herd bunch of times |
theres always other rotors too. and as long as its all aligned properly i donty see how the rotor will warp. they warp when its out of alignment with the caliper or if they get hot spots and such... |
well if you make set and they work right and don't worp ect i buy em up as long as there cheep |
