NashMan 12-21-2003 12:34 PM

it's a lincon as well so it pretty dame good my welding skills are coming back too i pretty good i thought i whould suck after cuople of years not welding

SilverMK3 12-21-2003 07:15 PM

LOL
I justed fixed that annoying-as-hell "Tail Lamp Failure Sensor" light on the dash that's been there since I first got the car.

When I got rear ended, the plastic covers that hide the taillight assemblies inside my hatch got knocked out. So I took a quick peek at the lights and noticed that one of the ground screws was just about to fall off. All I had to do was tighten the screw and voila, no more annoying orange light on my dash! :)

Ryan, we're making my downpipe and some hardpipes when i get all the parts/money together... do you want to try making strut tower bars? i was thinkin of the tribar that ties into the firewall, you could probably make one for $30 in metal, or about $60-70 in aluminum

what kind of MIG did you get? Weldpak? is it 230V? i was readin about lincoln MIGs, and you have to preheat aluminum, and it can only weld around 1/4" material.

i need to practice welding, been too long since ive done it. you mind givin me some pointers?

well, i dont know what the fuck is goin on with my car...

i was working last night, coming back from sidney. boosted a bit, but not too hard. drivin down the highway, my temp gauge started goin up, then back down. after that, it seemed to only do it on inclines, becuase when its sitting level it idles normally, normal temp, no white smoke or anything. my temp gauge is out of whack anyways becuase i dont think i put the needle back on right when i took my gauges apart. i tried fixing it, took it around the block, and now its pegged at redline, so i dont know if its just the temp gauge, or if its something worse, like a BHG.... so now i cant work, and no shops have any time until after xmas...

what should i do... FUCK i just want a reliable car....

Ryan, call me when you have a chance, id like to talk with you about it.

Paradox 12-22-2003 07:03 PM

yank your thermostat, or boil it in water and see if it opens up.. it could be sticking. when mine was toast my temp gauge would do some weird shit, but then if i turned off the car, then back on when it was just about to open (just before the engine was fully warmed up) it would usually go back to usual, not a clue why.

Enraged 12-22-2003 07:47 PM

ya, i dont get it though, i just replaced the tstat a few months ago, maybe i got a faulty one?

tomorrow im going to install my autometer temp gauge, and see what that reads... i can borrow the rents van for work tomorrow night, so that would give me the next 3 days to fix the car.

NashMan 12-22-2003 10:02 PM

awesome, just got a new digital camera, minolta zimage z1... 3.2 megapixel, and lotsa options, should make for grabbin' some good supra shots next summer!

SilverMK3 12-23-2003 06:44 PM

Sweet!
So when are you gonna be back on the road?

Enraged 12-23-2003 11:56 PM

does it take videos?

got my turbo outlet flange from jblmk3.com today... gotta fix a few things on the supra, and once my electric cutout gets here, me and ryan can make my dp....

Paradox 12-24-2003 07:40 AM

yah, takes vids at 640x480, but taking vid on digi cams is lame :p

ive got the 8mm and capture card for that....

off to parksvegas i go for xmas..

Enraged 12-24-2003 11:39 AM

ya, but the quality isnt too great on that, unless your just knockin down the quality to get smaller file sizes... i still have that vid or ryan roasting your tires, best vid EVAR! haha

Paradox 12-24-2003 09:36 PM

naw, i can do better quality rips with the 8mm, im usually just too lazy to do iti properly.

and yeah that vid kicks ass! i still have some others to rip

Enraged 12-25-2003 02:33 PM

got a bending brake and a digital caliper... so now i can make some cool brackets and shit...

Paradox 12-25-2003 05:38 PM

i got the NGK Laser plug wires, some good polish for wheels/chrome, maybe that can bring my strut bar back to life.. and umm clothes and stuff

Enraged 12-25-2003 08:05 PM

me and ryan are makin strut tower bars pretty soon!

Enraged 12-26-2003 10:03 AM

ok, i think i may have found the problem, i just hope its JUST this one thing.... turbo coolant hoses. the top one is cracked, and dripping water. took it for a drive around the block, came back... it sounds like its sucking in air... so im hoping that replacing that hose and the clamps will solve my problem...

ryan, when you get back, tell me where i need to install my autometer sensor. i think the stock gauge is reading correctly, but id like to be sure...

Paradox 12-26-2003 10:46 AM

ontop of the christmas tree thing'a'ma'bob

bypass the vac. line that goes into it from the charcoal canister and screw in your sensor, run the wire to your gauge and you're done.

Enraged 12-26-2003 10:49 AM

k, i might do that tomorow then....
