well depends the einge bay harness is the same but the stuff unde the dash is all diffetn it will not match the rear end wirieng of the car cause the fuse box's changed ever year teh supra was made and still the it has to have the same options as youer car or it will not work and still the some years toyota reused some other there harness and use em in diffetn years so you have to find out what haress is in your car right now
where the numbers are are ont eh big placti cover peac ont eh wire it will have number and then ont eh back of the fuse box as well and the number tag ont eh wireing it sefl
good luck
i say buy the book and rewire it back ot norm
3 washer will give abpout 9 to 10 psi i most supra even if they have exhuast and intake

If i buy the book and rewire it what are you thinking exactly, like hardwire it? Cause if thats what you mean it has already kinda been half ass hardwired. Im going to redo it but ya. So are you saying a stock supra will get about 10psi or with 3 washers or do you mean one with an intake and exhaust. Right now mine has a K&N Intake kit, but stock exhaust.

ryan, toby.. what you guys think about putting together "BPU" kits for the MK3.. and sell them on ebay and shit
basically my idea was to put together a bunch of kits containing.
universal cone style air filter + adapter
manual boost controller
3" exhaust pipes, with no muffler
or perhaps a cutout.
i figure it could be done for pretty cheap, and sell online for a awesome profit
thats just an idea...

also, anyone here know much about this car?
1987 TOYOTA SUPRA V6 200 HP, N/A, Black, 2door coupe, 5spd, No accidents, Fully loaded and powered everything, 220K, New H&R 1.5h lowering spring, New 2.5" customer make exhaust piping, Apexi WS muffler, 16h5 Star rims, CD-player, Alarm system with keyless entry, Short Shifter, New NGK plug wire and spark plugs, Good Condition, oil changed every 2 month!! buying a new car, need to sell. $4,500 obo Victoria
I'm needing to sell the mr2 cause I want a bit more room. I always liked supras. I probably DONT need a turbo as i dont see myself out on the track or whatever where the speeds will be important is this needs to hold me over till i take off for law school in a year and a half.
What would you guys pay for a decent condition 87 or 88 with medium km's and no rust / good paint?

Biggest pet peeve in teh world: People saying that Supras have V6's... grrrr
Anyway, that's quite a few KMs on it. Mine's at 197K and starting to show it. That many mods on an NA makes me wonder if its been abused.
$4500 is a pretty good price when you consider everything that's gone into it (assuming everything's in working order). Take Nashman or any of the other Supra ppl with you when you go look at it though - We know the common trouble spots.
When you turn it on, give it a couple of revs and listen for a gurgling/waterfall noise behind the dash. That means there's air in the coolant system and a common symptom of a blown head gasket.
Take off the oil cap and look for any white goop. Another sign of a BHG.
Press the brake pedal down and see if an orange light on the dash stays lit. If the taillight failure sensor has gotten wet because of a leaky hatch, it has probably shorted out.
Check the spare tire well to see if there's any water/rust there. Water commonly leaks into your trunk through the hatch.
Check the body moldings around the entire car to make sure none are "pushed out" from the body. '86-'88 Supras had metal clips that held the moldings to the body - these commonly rust and are a pain to fix.
Take it for a spin! |

Yeah, bring someone who knows what to look for with you. The biggest problems I guess would be a BHG, rod knock and rust. If there's water in the spare tire well, run your thumbnail along the topside of the taillights. Often that's where the water leaks in, and it's not a big deal to fix.
Honestly 4500 doesn't sound all that bad, given the car is in good shape. I paid 7500 for mine a year ago. But it's a turbo, had just over 62,000 mi. on it and no rust.
Just look everything over really good, because these cars can get really expensive really fast to maintain! But if maintenance has been kept up, it should be ok. I have only had to replace a heater hose, and now a master cylinder. That is it and I've owned it for over a year now. So they can be ok, but make sure it has been maintained - and expect to spend a little money on replacing things if the previous owner has not done so alraedy. It is a 15+ year old car.
Good luck!
