Hey Paradox, very nice website man. I was just checking out the VIS site and i was really impressed. Cant wait to get some pics and info of my supra put up on there. I think thats awesome what you have done.

Paradox 01-25-2004 02:39 AM

cool, thanks man... if you get some pics, email em to me at parad0x@shaw.ca same goes to any other supra owners on the island who would like to be a part of it.

i feel the urge to do a re-design of the site fairly soon

Slate 85GTS 01-25-2004 10:07 AM

No problem, i will be sure to send you some pics as soon as i get some. I wanna do a little work to the car before i take pics of it anyways lol But yes definately count me in :D

Enraged 01-25-2004 10:31 AM

i gotta update my info.... cant really have Konis and the TEMS Full Firm mod haha

NashMan 01-25-2004 07:48 PM

yae mine is out of date too

lil wicks 01-26-2004 07:55 PM

I want to remove the side body molding crap. It looks like ass, but i don't want to have the huge indent all the way around the car.... What can i do/use to fill it or whatever, not including bondo :p

Paradox 01-26-2004 08:07 PM

you mean shaving the side panels?

have to bondo it, repaint, etc.. but they you have to worry about parking lots and people slamming their doors into your car causing never ending scratches.

lil wicks 01-26-2004 08:58 PM

what about fiberglassing??

Enraged 01-26-2004 09:01 PM

only way to do it to make it last is to weld strips of steel in, then grind it down to shape, bodyfiller, prep, etc. too much work for somthing that doesnt look all that great. if you have an 86.5 to 88, buy some 89-92 style side mouldings, they are thinner, and if you paint them bodycolor you wont even notice them.

lil wicks 01-26-2004 10:10 PM

do u know of any were i could get the side mouldings

Slate 85GTS 01-26-2004 10:37 PM

I thought the side body moulding gave the supras some character myself, but what do i know right? lol

lil wicks 01-26-2004 10:53 PM

yea i dont mind it but all mine is coming off so i wanted to do something about it. got any ideas???

Enraged 01-26-2004 11:04 PM

www.supramania.com or www.supraforums.com , both have for sale sections. theres also online junkyards (noone local has supra stuff, and if they do, its generally crap), the Buy Sell and Trade that they sell at gas stations, etc.

Slate 85GTS 01-26-2004 11:08 PM

About the only choice you have is to replace it with some moulding that is in decent shape, otherwise like you said you will have to strip the old stuff off and refill it which is going to look bad in the end anyways.

NashMan 01-26-2004 11:25 PM

ok time for scare time

all new molding for our cars is drum roll plz about 1500 bucsk for it and the 86 to 88 modling is the most exp but i don't remmber if the 86 stuff is 1500 or the 89 molding

as for shaven side modles the only way is welding or it will look like ass taken it all off lookes liek as as well

Enraged 01-26-2004 11:26 PM

the other + of 89-92 mouldings is they are plastic backed, not metal backed, so they will never rust and deform like the 86.5-88 mouldings.

colormatched 89-92 mouldings are on my list of things to save for. already have an 89-92 wing, just need the tails and the mouldings.... oh ya, and maybe get rid of the damn sawblades haha

NashMan 01-26-2004 11:59 PM

baaa you need new lower lip again supra look liek ass wiht out them i think well the 88's do

Enraged 01-27-2004 12:37 AM

ya, i was thinking of building my own lip eventually, not high on my priority list though.

NashMan 01-27-2004 01:17 AM

how you goig to do that filber glass

i fyou have your old one still you can take heatr gun to it or hair dryer the stuff bend back easy if you have hot hair dryer or heat gun

Paradox 01-27-2004 07:20 AM

why not just paint match the moldings you have already?

my car came with color matched moldings from the factory and i love it, i think they should have made more this way. but i think it was just for the white package cars....

Paradox 01-27-2004 04:03 PM

well im up in parksville now, and holy mother of god... Toby you should start a sprint club up here. :lol those damn cars are EVERYWHERE.

i walked like 2 blocks and saw 3 of em, not to menton the ones on the highway... wtf?
