Enraged 02-19-2004 06:00 PM

anyone want some 1 year old tokico shocks for US$100 + split shipping?

islandsupra 02-19-2004 06:10 PM

Hey Slate,
I just got in touch with a guy in Alberta that has a parts car. If you want me to ask him for any parts, let me know. All i want are some of the interior peices. SAys the body is pretty rusted out, and he is using the power-train, but the rest of the car is there.
He also said he has a full grey interior from another parts car - but no good parts left on that one, as he has already stripped most of it. But... I am taking interior parts from the grey interior. THe other car has crappy tan interior. but if there's any parts you need, let me know and I can ask. I know that the rusted one is an 87 turbo, and the other is probably as well. It's quite possible that out of 3 AFMs and ECUs he may have an extra one kicking around.

Slate 85GTS 02-19-2004 06:38 PM

Thanks islandsupra, actually if he has a good ECU and a good AFM from the 87 turbo that would be cool! Actually if you dont mind giving me his contact info then that would be cool too because i would like to talk to him about a wiring harness as well. I need a wiring harness for a '87 Turbo 5 speed with TEMS and ABS. I want to redo my interior to but i could figure that out later, i have that crappy tan interior your talking about right now and the back seats are in really rough shape. I am probably getting the car painted black eventually so that complete grey interior would have been perfect for me lol but thats ok you got first dibs on it obviously. I will just have to look for another interior later, if you hear of one lemme know. Thanks. Let me know about the other stuff to. So to sum it up im looking for a wiring harness, an ECU, and an AFM, all for an '87 Turbo Supra with TEMS and ABS. Thanks.

Total Cost so far:
$140 for ARPs
$372 for gasket set
$67 for head resurface
$75 for valve seals (or do them myself, maybe)
_______
$654

now lets just hope no hoses get busted and no bolts break :)

Enraged 02-20-2004 01:35 PM

islandsupra 02-20-2004 05:11 PM

Hey Slate,
Just in case that guy didn't get a hold of you:
I just got an email back from him tonight. He said he has absolutely complete grey interior, everything.
He wants $350 for it, which I think is pretty good. The problem is that he is in Alberta, shipping could really be a kick in the nuts. I won't even bother getting the visors off him or the glovebox, if you want the whole interior, so that you can have the whole thing, I guess I really don't need it that bad. As long as I get the headliner.

Enraged 02-20-2004 05:57 PM

thats a damn good price for an entire enterior... shipping would probably be over $100 though, unless maybe you shipped it by Greyhound or something.

islandsupra 02-20-2004 06:19 PM

Yeah, but even if shipping is like 100-150, you are still getting a full interior for 450-500 dollars. Even that seems reasonable to me. 350 is a STEAL!

Slate 85GTS 02-20-2004 09:48 PM

Ya im all over that price!! i dont even mind paying that much for shipping, well hopefully he will email me, cause he hasnt yet but i would love to talk to him a bit more about it thats for sure! thanks.

islandsupra 02-21-2004 03:14 AM

no prob man... I gave him your email. Don't worry, I am not going ot take any of the peices anyomre. I figure I am just being anal, you actually need the parts, so I guess you can have them, as long as I get that headliner.
I'll forward him your email sometime. Not tongiht thouigh, I just got in, and I am going snowboarding in a few hours... then I am supposed to get my landlord to help me with my car, but I am going boarding so maybe after al that shit gets done. I gotta go get ready though and try to sleep this off.... spiced rum is the devil!

dude the db's cost alot of money there really nice tire

Enraged 02-22-2004 02:19 PM

slate - suprasport or mvp are good. id suggest suprasport first becuase i prefer dealing with jeff.... also look at supraforums in the for sale section, there are usually some good deals to be had. buy JUST the bov, not a kit. you have access to the stuff to build your own hardpipes, so just buy the bov and flange, and do the rest yourself.

ryan - i know, i was just buggin you :) how much are they new? most used tires go for the original cost minus whatever percentage of wear there is, but you know that, right? :) if that guy in van would sell me his MKIV rims, id buy the tires off you...

anyone know the best place to get stuff chromed? staring at duanes engine bay has got me to consider doing some pretty stuff while the engine is apart....

Slate 85GTS 02-22-2004 02:40 PM

Thanks for the info Enraged, i will definately check it out. You guys all run the HKS SS right? Im still trying to figure out which one i want to buy.

Enraged 02-22-2004 02:40 PM

anyone seen this: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/lm1.php

looks interesting.... about $500, and you can tune your car on the street rather than $100 to vancouver to pay $100/hr for tuning....

Paradox 02-22-2004 04:32 PM

wow. that thing would pay for itself in no time

altho that australian wideband setup (forget name) was a decent amount cheaper wasnt it?

Enraged 02-22-2004 05:17 PM

not really....

looks like im getting Eibachs (if all goes well) and Slate is getting an HKS bov :) so now there is goin to be 4 supras with that bov hehe
