he said if i bring it in degreased and sanded a bit, the price will go down

so what color do you think i should do? im thinking gloss black and a bright silver....

Damn! I might just go for that myself. Thats the place in sidney is it?

BTW Enraged, I emailed that guy about the BOV a couple days ago now and ive heard nothing yet. Id love to get it off him. I will try emailing him again and see what happens?

Oh ya and also i wanted to ask you guys if any of you know FOR SURE what the differences are between the Main ECU to Engine wiring harness for a 5 speed trans, and an auto trans? I have found a good deal on a harness out of an 87 turbo auto trans supra and the kid says hes sure it will work for me, but i just want to make sure before i go coughing up the doh for it. My thinking is the auto trans harness would just have a few extra connectors on it thats all? but i need to know for sure... let me know what you guys think? Thanks.

Paradox 02-24-2004 06:13 PM

from my understanding a auto ECU will work with a 5spd, but not vice versa

Slate 85GTS 02-24-2004 06:20 PM

You mean the wiring harness not the ECU right?

Paradox 02-24-2004 06:30 PM

err no, sorry i meant the ECU

not sure about the wiring harness.. altho they should be pretty much the same

cept for tranny connections.. not too sure what you'd do there...

Paradox 02-24-2004 10:21 PM

how much is it for all new belts?

Enraged 02-24-2004 10:45 PM

wiring harness should have a plug for the trans, but aside from that, i think its the same. search on supraforums to be sure.

i talked to the guy the other day, im waiting on pics of the springs, and im goin to paypal him on the weekend.

might go silver, but the prices were from one of the places in town... island powdercoating or capital or somthing.

timing belt is US$24 from jeff watson, so about $30 from the dealer probably. the other belts you can buy at lordco, probably $20-30 for all of them.

people that dont tip can fucking eat my ass with a spoon. morons.

Damnit, i wish he would email me back, i really want that BOV. When you talk to him next can you pls ask him about it for me. I want to get it shipped with your springs like we had planned.

Paradox 02-24-2004 11:04 PM

cool. you have jay marks # or website?

my alt belt is toast.... and may aswell replace the rest while im at it.

NashMan 02-25-2004 08:56 AM

you can use it cause all the plugs are diffent but you can hack it part to make it work but that is bit of work and if you have harness all ready that bena choped there is no reson to to buy it

ness_71 02-25-2004 09:58 AM

I have another line on a wiring harness from an 88 turbo 5 speed? Would this be any better? I want something that is going to be a direct clip in, im just not sure which years where the same. Thanks.

BTW This is Slate 85GTS.

Enraged 02-25-2004 02:03 PM

get the one from an 88T 5spd...

murray - call toyota, tell them its for an 87 supra (so you get a 15% discount). then try lordco or JB, see what the price difference is. i might put new belts on while its all apart... i was thinking about doing the timing belt, but getting that crank pulley off will be a major hassle...

Paradox 02-25-2004 05:26 PM

why will i get a discount if i say its for a 87?

i may aswell just change my alt. belt for now... stupid battery keeps dying on me, and i think its partly due to the slipping belt

SilverMK3 02-25-2004 05:56 PM

I paid $50 for a new Serpentine belt when my water pump died. Part no# K050510 at Lordco. :(

Enraged 02-25-2004 06:14 PM

toyota does discounts for older cars: 10% for a 10 year old, 15% for a 15 year old.

Paradox 02-25-2004 06:31 PM

do i get 100% when its 100 years old? :p

i think i'll call and get a price soon... loose belts sound nasty!

Enraged 02-25-2004 06:42 PM

i need a compressor.... and a TIG....

NashMan 02-26-2004 07:50 AM

i hate you all

Enraged 02-26-2004 10:29 AM

thats just super!

why? need a hug? :)

Paradox 02-26-2004 12:08 PM

:lol

islandsupra 02-26-2004 01:00 PM

what, you hate me now?
I TOLD you... I HAD A HEADACHE!

Slate 85GTS 02-26-2004 05:32 PM

You know, cars really do get jealous. Dont let anyone ever tell you your physcotic if you think a car is jealous because its true they do get jealous. About a week before i bought the supra my poor celica got a cracked head resulting in a blown head gasket. Well i got that all fixed and taken care of, nothing 300 bucks wont fix. So i thought everything was all good and happy, well now the celica decides that that new clutch i put in there when i rebuilt the engine is not good enough for it. Its slipping under heavy acceleration or high rev situations. Its so friggin lame, ive probably got like 15,000 km on it since i put that clutch in and its slipping already. And i did a complete not just a friction disc. Im talking machined the flywheel, new friction disc and new pressure plate. Talk about a run of bad luck... back to the moral of the story, cars CAN get jealous! Dont be fooled :(

SilverMK3 02-26-2004 05:37 PM

Heh. My car heard a rumor that I want to get a Mazda 3 once I get my raise.... It decided to blow its exhaust in half!

So the pipe got sheared off right at the resonator. I'll get pics tomorrow when I take it to the muffler shop.

I got a $40 Magnaflow from Jeffraider tho, w00t!
