Why don't you take yhe doors off and go all out Jeep style. Then you could run less psi in your tires, take the hood off.... take your shoes off when you get in the car.... oh man the possibilities!! Edit: sorry, I am drunk. Was going to delete... but I still think it's a valid post :P Just had to say though... I don't wanna make anyone else think I'm a prick. I'm not making fun of you Ryan, but I thougt it was funny because I was just at the bar talking to my friend about stupid civic drivers and their "mods". I couldn't resist!! |
ahhh i see but i truning my supra into track car really and then buying a daily drive that is so slow that grams will finger me and pass me heheheh i wana keep it track/street mostly track on the 15 we will see if all i have done has paid off and stuff |
get rid of that heavy intercooler up front, get a smaller lighter one.... remove power steering. you could switch to a manual rack, ditch the pump, lines, cooler, and resevoir... while your at it, get a new steering wheel, you can get decent ones from lordco |
goin to test drive a datsun 200sx today or tomorrow, as long as it drives nice im buying it... so reuben, ill get ahold of you as soon as the sprint is ready to go. im free in the afternoons or on the weekend other that saturday night... |
Alright man, sounds awesome! Things are getting full swing now at the restaurant, so I'm out there from 9:30am until about 10pm starting pretty soon here. I think I'm going to take wednesday and thursday off this week though, so then would be the best time for us to get a hold of each other. I check my email every day though. Thanks again for the heads up on the sprint, it'll be a PERFECT backroad to the resort machine!! |
im buying the datsun tomorrow night, so any time after about 4:30pm, any day thise week accept for tuesday night. |
OK man, that's awesome. I am going to take wednesday and thursday off for sure. I'll find a way to come down there on one of those days, and we can figure something out. You can call me on my cellphone if you want, 802 7382 or email me or something and leave me a way to get a hold of you. Thanks again!! |

so muray man sice you got your lincace back why nto come drag this week end |
So i was diggin thru some of the steel braided lines ive got kickin around at the shop. Which lines are the best ones to replace with steel braided lines? Thanks. |
all of them. and hook me up! |
actually, i have a braided stainless oil line for the turbo, very nice peice. id suggest that, and any other hard to reach/remove lines.... |
the only line i can see that might bean idea is the main brake booster line if you replace that you will get mroe better pedal feel other then that all teh other will do fine there none by any heat what so ever ect the one that goes tot eh vsv vavle ont eh fire wall that control the the swing vavle othe then that you shoudl not really have to replace any of them wiht briading it more show then go if you ask me as for the hard line off the turbo jst makes it easyer for in stall and not have to bend you line for perfect match like i had ot do i might be gettign soft section put in there if mine going to be pain to get in again other then that it kinda point less ot get one cause you can see the lines any wya sthere to deep intot he einge well off to work i go |
OOOPS i left my name loged in at Ryan's HEHE HEHE me in troubel Now :( sorry hun :( |
anyone want to buy some 88 mouldings? :) |
Ok guys, more stupid questions :P I just want to know what you guys are running, i know some of this is personal preference but thats ok. What heat range sparkplugs should i get, im thinking about getting some NGK Plugs and NGK Wires. The manual seems to call for NGK BCPR6EPN8 plugs with a .031" gap. Should i stick with what it calls for or have you guys decided on something that works better?? And my only other questions was what weight of engine oil are you guys running?? |
get copper plugs. about $8 for all 6, just change them every oil change. wires dont really matter, most brands are equal. |
naaaa coper ones are not fun who really want to change there plugs all the time some cars don't like copper mine didn't i run stock if they make a iram i will get it i as for oil you have new motor run 5 30 then go sysntick after your break in your motor |
mine ran fine, and its not like its hard to change plugs... should be a 5 min job for me once the new intake mani is complete :) |

Oh and about the plugs, you say that you are running stock plugs, so does that mean you are running the NGK numbers that i posted? |
Hey Bob... definely use copper plugs. I know we talked about not using the champions. But seems like everyone says copper plugs are the way to go. I use them and I love them. And I actually did notice a change when I switched from platinum to copper. They are supposed to be gapped at .032 (lots of research on this at SF, just search "copper spark plugs") Oh yeah, when you go to synthetic oil probably use 15W50 or something. It's so much thinner than dino oil, plus you are driving it mainly in the summer weather. This is both what I have put in my car, aftert spending a lot of hours reading and researching about both things. Seems to be what everyone agrees on though. Oh yeah, and there's no need to have to change copper plugs every oil change. They are good for like 20,000 miles. Maybe change them 2 - 3 times a year, that is if you are driving it all the time. I change my plugs every 3rd oil change... and they have always been in good shape when I take them out. They are dirt cheap anyways though!! Also, if you run lots of boost (or advanced timing?), I heard it's a good idea to go 1 heat range colder than stock. |
yeah, i use copper plugs and 10w30 oil, always have... and fucking hell, i just got a bill from ICBC for $760, so much for getting a beater... ARGH |
meh bean one year have not chnage my plugs an you know what there fine heheh cause they last longer but as for systetick you runteh same weight systeic is just man made oil plain and simple in less it is high mialge oil the weight does change a tad but nothgin that they have ot put diffent numbe ron it it just has more addtives in it 92 bucks on plug's that i don't have to chnage in 5 yeasr sounds good to me |
meh, go copper.... NGK's only lasted me 1 year what temp thermostats are you guys using? i have a 195, and a 180... |
