Oh well, the repairs are done. Now we play the drive the car and see if we get stranded again game... im not straying far from home for the next 100 miles i put on that car thats for sure.

AVNGinger 06-12-2004 11:56 PM

hey, what can you do to lighten the tank that is know as the MKIII supra besides the obvious removal of the spare tire and shit?

Enraged 06-13-2004 12:38 AM

copy ryan. strip EVERYTHING out of the car, including all luxury items and stereo

Slate 85GTS 06-13-2004 09:33 AM

Hey guys, i need some help. Im going to try and install my autometer guages today for something to do. But im not sure where to splice power for the gauge illumination. I want them to work with the rest of the dash lights. I want them to come on and off at the same time and also dim with the dimmer switch. Thanks guys. I know someone here has done this.

Enraged 06-13-2004 10:25 AM

you'll have to hook it up to the dimmer switch circuit. make sure you only hook up the lighting, get power (if they are electric) from the ignition.

Paradox 06-13-2004 01:06 PM

yah, as i found out, if you wire into the dimmer switch for straight power, it uhh makes some gauges read kinda strange. heh, all that time i was conviced my car was running like 250c+ and it was just the fact my dimmer switch was way down. it also was effecting my vf1 meter :(

kinda fun tho, if i turn the dimmer switch all the way down, my vf1 meter goes to like full rich and water temp gauge pins itself way past 250c eheheh

so murray you want to take a look at the datsun, or should i just fixer up and try to sell it? i picked up the sprint today, i think ill be doin the clutch this week sometime... ryan, what kind of discount can you get at lordco? or maybe bob can hook me up? clutch kit for a 90 Chev Sprint 1.0L 3cyl. B&B sells it for $178 + tax, so im lookin for the cheapest vendor.

Paradox 06-13-2004 03:28 PM

Yeah for my guages i think i will just splice of some accessory wire. My poor car has so many wiring issues its not even funny. But thats what wiring diagrams are for.

NashMan 06-14-2004 05:05 PM

Slate 85GTS 06-16-2004 12:26 PM

ness_71 06-16-2004 12:38 PM

You need a lot more than that.... *runs away* :D

Enraged 06-16-2004 02:22 PM

removed downpipe/elbow: 1
turbo outlet nuts that frustrated me: 2
broken brand new ratcheting wrench: 1
crunched knuckes from said wrench: 5
shot of rum in my beverage: 4

Paradox 06-16-2004 03:49 PM

haha, good ol' elbow, did you try and get it off with the downpipe still in, or did u just unbolt it from the turbo and pull off the entire DP?

i just got some of that lucas engine oil additive, wow sticky stuff.

Enraged 06-16-2004 05:07 PM

took the elbow and dp off as one. two nuts came off no problem, the lower passenger side nut came off with some swearing, but it took my a fuckin hour to get the lower driver side one off... broke my ratcheting wrench, and i dont have another 14 mm box end.... but with some swearing and bruised knuckles i finally got it off..... note to self, USE ANTISEIZE on everything....

Paradox 06-16-2004 07:09 PM

i had mine replaced with hex bolts, should be a lot easier to take it off again if i have to...

might wanna take your bolts to lordco and see if they can hook ya up with something similar....

Enraged 06-16-2004 08:56 PM

ya, ill be going to a fastener shop in town, replacing damn near every bolt on the car with stainless allen key heads i think...
