haha, that's what I was thinking too. Anyways, this guy just called me. He's gonna be around tonight but gone on the weekend. He already offered the guy that did the engine for him to buy the car. But if I want it for 1600 then I cna have it. If someone can check it out for me tonight, and everything is ok then I'm going to buy it. I am done work on wednesday and can be down there thursday night of friday morning hopefully to pay the dude. It's going to kick ass if this all works out, I might actually get to drive my car again! |

whats the number and where is he located? |
ahaha, ryan... when I spend all my money and all is said and done it'll still be stock :( Anyways, by the time yours is done mine will probably be broken again, lol. car is getting checked out right now, hopefully everything is ok. The guy said a lot of the plumbing is shot, the rad and IC is gone, but the fan looks ok, and it doesn't even look like the belts were touched. Hopefully the engine itself is ok, and didn't take a lot of shock damage or anything. The anticipation is killing me. It's unbelieveable how much I just want my car back. Either I want to never see it again, or I want it back. |
whoops, my bad. Race to see who's car is fixed first. well, I am not fixing it really, so I can't race. If I did it, it would take ages! |
mine runs, always has..... you guys have to get your shit together :p |

well i have some ideas but don't know if i shoudl do em i have finshed my battie box but what to use for lid stainless or just carpet over it to match the rest of my floor all so do you think it whould be kidna funny for me ot monte my fule persure gauge ont he hood of my car i can run it insaid but that whoudl be fuel line goign into my car so i may not do that or just fuck the fule persure gauge |
7m valve springs (thanks to aljordan on SF): "Found the number. Its a comp cams part number 975. Retail prices look to be about $60 for 24 springs. " as for your battery box, for it to be legal for most racing bodies it has to be sealed from the passenger compartment, and vented to the outside. if you dont have it covered already, use some polished stainless to make it look nice. did you just use steel sheeting to make the box? reuben/bob: how did the car look? engine look good? reuben, if you buy that car, how much do you want for your current engine (just the head and shortblock, no manifolds or anything)? id like to have a second one to build over the winter/spring. |
the car is mine :) not too sure what exactly it is engine wise... but it's better than what I have now I guess. Made a deposit on it, and have to pay the rest when I can get down there, and pick it up. Kind of want to wait for him to find the paperwork for the rebuild though.... though it doesn't matter because it's better than nothing would just be nie to know exactly what I am looking at engine wise. |

ok, question of the hour, to take off the crankshaft pulley, you need the Special Service Tool as seen here in step 11. So, suggestions oh supra-wise ones. |
block the crank from turning, use a breaker bar to get the bolt off... good luck, its something like 180 ft-lbs haha |

the key tp every thgi is levage get big pipe and she will come off the key to gettign bolts off is never use all you muscle and just mus it off use shape wack wiht you hand or just rife on ti for sec she will come off it peac of cake afrter that use pully puller then you are set |
just think of a hammer. You don't drive nails in by putting the hammer on it and pushing. you whack it. Use the same techniqur to break the bolt free. Just make sure you have good enough tool sthat they won;t break when applying the "yanking" force to them. Oh yeah, and when I was trying to turn my engine over, I was hanigng of the crank pulley bolt and yanking... and I weigh 240 ++ lb. So that bastard might be a little bit difficult to remove. That took me 20 minutes to type with no errors. so I hope that it helps you! |
