i hope it is 89 cause want the front nose cover

i want 89 front bumper so i can chop it up and stuff

islandsupra 02-16-2005 05:10 PM

It's the one at south island I was talking about before. I went back today and it's still there. The front end was already taken off and they used it to fix another car. BTW it is an 88. IC and front bumper are gone, passenger fender is gone, coilpack gone and turbo gone - a few other things as well... I didn't really poke around too much. I was there looking for other stuff for my car between classes.

I think that it's definetly worth a look if either of you is seriously interested. Like I say - the car looks like it was maintained really well while it was alive. The body is in AWESOME shape too if any of you 3 is looking for white exterior parts. The only panels missing are front bumper, hood and passenger side fender. All the trim is in great shape as well (it's black/grey pinstripe).

I'll be going back tomorrow or friday to pull a fender off another car and check how bad it's rusted in behind the wheel well if anyone has a request.

NashMan 02-16-2005 07:00 PM

humm wel gettign some trim off toby any ways

going to paint it white since red will not look so good on my car

prys there no rust on it

alls i need is wale tail or good looking drag wing

Paradox 02-16-2005 08:13 PM

be better to just buy the entire car if enough people needed parts, but how to get it down to vic...

islandsupra 02-16-2005 08:16 PM

A UHaul trailer is only like 75 bucks for a day.
I dunno though, they would probably want a fair bit more for the entire car. I'm not sure how the interior is doing anymore, since it sat out there all winter. She's been there for a while now probably since september. IT is maroon leather though. It's basically good for bodyparts and a few odds and ends.

islandsupra 02-20-2005 01:46 AM

OH SNAP!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Toby, you know how much I been bitching about the stock brakes totally sucking balls.
I'm on this like a fat white american kid on a fast food chain lawsuit.

islandsupra 02-20-2005 01:49 AM

i whould go drilled rotor's rubane but if you plan to smoke your tire or drag and stuff i whould get line lock so you don't crack the rear rotors when heating up the tires

Slate 85GTS 02-21-2005 07:33 AM

I'm taking bets on how long Bob's stock clutch will last :p
Anyone?

-vanessa

NashMan 02-21-2005 10:08 AM

i thought he was getting the act one he he goes stock replacemnt it will hold tell about 15 psi max and not for very long time though

Slate 85GTS 02-21-2005 10:26 AM

Meh, I told him to just risk it. He'll only be running 10 psi, how much power can he be at really :p. He doesn't NEED a new one, and for the amount of money an aftermarket one costs it's worth risking.

- vanessa

Enraged 02-21-2005 11:12 AM

stock would be fine for his current power

i have the TRD simply becuase my stocker was dying, plus i got a kickass deal on it.

islandsupra 02-21-2005 01:11 PM

Bah I don't think I need drilled rotors. I don't really ever need to brake hard... I don't plan on racing my car and the only time I'm driving fast is on the highway - I don't think they really get that hot.

But looks like the deal on those ones isn't for brembos, just some generic chinese made crap. It says right on the website they won't live up to OEM standards lol.

Bob should just keep the stock clutch for now, it should get him through the summer.

well i know bob will over time make his car need a clutch and what not so since it's all out why not put it in

Enraged 02-21-2005 04:27 PM

if hes purchasing a new clutch, might as well get a better one. but if hes just reusing the stocker, leave it alone

islandsupra 02-21-2005 05:39 PM

I'd leave it alone and get the car together noow that the weather is clearing up.

In the 3 months he drives it (if he can last that long without tearing it apart again for some tiny imperfection) it should hold up fine. Then since he's gonna tear it apart again in the fall anyways... do a clutch job then if need be. It'll give ya something to do Bob :P

Slate 85GTS 02-21-2005 05:50 PM

Haha thanks Reuben, its not like i want to tear it apart every fall... well hopefully next year it can stay together... chances are slim but hopefully! lol. Ive decided im just going to take the engine out again while the head is off and resurface and lighten the stock flywheel and then reuse my stock toyota clutch because its only got like 5000km or something stupid on it right now anyways so it should still be fine.

NashMan 02-22-2005 02:52 PM
