it is just reflection, optical allusion if you will, there is no wierd lip thingy it is smooth.

Enraged 02-23-2005 11:08 PM

murray that looks about right. a clutch kit will come with all the necassary clutch related parts, and you could get a lightweight flywheel if you feel like spending some extra coin.

oops, only thing you forgot was a shift knob :)

umm... are you kidding me?!!
Look again dude. If there was nothing there, the hood would just terminate into the gaping IC cavity.
The front bumper is too agressive IMHO and they had to do that because of the way the part around the headlights is.

Sexiest mk4 to me is stock bodied with fat-ass 5 spokes and *maybe* a bomex front bumper

islandsupra 02-23-2005 11:29 PM

OH yeah Murray... that is brutal!!

But keep that tranny up here in mind - I am pretty sure we could get everything for ~500-ish.

just need the tranny, clutch assembly, shifter assembly, tranny mount, driveshaft, pedals, master and hardlines.
I have a list somewhere from when I sold my other one I can dig it up if you want.

thats wierd, because thats not what the bomex bumper usually looks like, i've never seen it come out like that, i've only ever seen it come down smooth

No, I have no idea what that front end is, sorta looks like the JUN one, but on crack.

NashMan 02-24-2005 12:06 PM

well gt 4 owns the mk3 is sweet car in the
game

oh and shinny makes you go faster muahahaha

so every one be shinney

islandsupra 02-24-2005 01:45 PM

First it was... "I like my car to look like a peice of crap - put soap on it and drive in the rain when it's dirty." lol!!!

Enraged 02-24-2005 10:54 PM

so whats up murray? are we doing a mad 5 spd swap sometime soon or is the auto gettin fixed?

Paradox 02-24-2005 11:41 PM

i dunno, dropped in at the trans shop today but steve wasnt there... also dropped a msg up at south island imports about the 5spd.

if i can get the auto fixed for free or cheap im going that route, if not its 5spd, seems thats the only way to hold any damn power in these cars :(

stinkin' insurance just ran out on my Rx7 too, so i have two useless cars haha

Enraged 02-24-2005 11:53 PM

theres always the th350 haha. too bad that wasnt ready when you needed your trans built.

NashMan 02-25-2005 12:47 AM

well fi you are over your warntty then they will not fix it so the best of luck

and rebane i like my looking like poo but once teh einge bay is poed i wan tit be perfecta dn shinny kinda liek sleeper ish

poeple will think my car is heap and can't do shit

Paradox 02-25-2005 01:27 AM

i had a 1 year warranty or 10,000k whichever came first. and im like right at the 10k mark now

but christ 4k for 10,000 kilometers? this is bullshit, something must have gone wrong in the valve body.

NashMan 02-25-2005 11:29 AM

humm well it has bean over year since you had thsi tranny right

Matt6003 02-25-2005 11:39 PM

man that sucks

Paradox 02-26-2005 03:10 AM

$1050 for everything needed for the 5spd swap including the ECU sound like a decent deal? i think its a bit steep, but then again i dont need the ECU so they may be factoring in that price. im waiting for them to get back to me about it

think i'll grab it if they come down in price a bit. i dont really have much of a choice.

ryan you still have your old driveshaft?

Enraged 02-26-2005 09:12 AM

that ok i suppose, but then you have to figure in the cost of a new clutch that will hold the power ($500+).

id say get a new master and slave, braided clutch line, good clutch, and then get the rest from them

NashMan 02-26-2005 10:36 AM

1050 wow that is steep

so i guess there not goig ot fix you tranny if so that is um liek very gay for them to do that

and yes you can have my old drive shaft

you shoudl eb abel to get tranyy for about 450 buck's all teh rest of the stuff is really junk to any wreaker

then you have to get clutch that about 600 or more bucks pending on what you get

then you can use you old auto tranny cooler as oil cooler that you need cause the stock one is junk for oil cooled turbos

Enraged 02-26-2005 10:43 AM

you might be able to sell your auto as well, someone might want it to rebuild

NashMan 02-26-2005 04:11 PM

muray come pick up teh drive shaft id you wan tit caus ei just throw it out

NashMan 02-26-2005 10:11 PM

faily it is done all shinny just how it ids suppost to be

Enraged 02-27-2005 12:12 AM

anyone need aluminum welded? im getting some small things done in the next few days

Enraged 02-27-2005 12:44 AM

hey murray, i was thinkin about it, and why not buy a parts car if you want to do the swap? ruebun payed what, $1500 for his? if you can find one, take what you need and sell the rest to make your money back

Slate 85GTS 02-27-2005 01:07 AM

So yeah, i decided to yank the engine again :P shutup reuben! lol... but thats ok, its only for about a week hopefully. Im gonna get my flywheel lightened and resurfaced because i had a bit of clutch chatter so i thought why not do everything while the engine is easy to rip out now. The clutch still looks quite good so im gonna run it for a bit.
