islandsupra 07-18-2005 07:41 PM

Thanks guys! Yeah, it was on sunday :)

I put the 89+ wing on my car on the weekend while I was all hung over and drilled holes in the wrong spots and now I got holes in my car and the side peices line up like poop... oh and I also dropped them both and took quarter sized dents out of the brand new paint on both of them.
It was pretty funny now when I look back on it. I shouldn't have trusted my judgement in being able to line things up properly lol!!

Oh well, I guess it's time to fill a bunch of holes and come down there and start painting again. Maybe I'll try again on the side peices too haha.

Never work on your car when you're drunk or hung over, nothing good can come from it.

Happy birthday Reuben.

Millsy 07-19-2005 12:11 AM

Anyone talk to Bob lately? I haven't been able to get ahold of him. I don't see him on msn much, and haven't got a reply about the email I sent him.

Enraged 07-19-2005 12:23 AM

hes camping right now i believe

Millsy 07-19-2005 01:00 AM

Thanks Toby.

Matt6003 07-19-2005 09:20 AM

Yeah Bob went camping on saturday, and should be back on sunday.

Matt6003 07-19-2005 10:21 AM

Hey Reuban, since Bobs not around, what kind of sway bars are they?

I think Ryan already snatched up the sway bars. I could be wrong tho.

Nope, I already snatched em up, I just forgot to ask him that

Enraged 07-19-2005 12:04 PM

went to lordco and spent $30 on a carbide cutting bit for my die grinder.... hooooly shit best $30 i ever spent. what took me 3 hours now takes about 2 minutes... getting the runners hottanked today, final welding on the runners/flange in the next day or two.

also pickin up my wheels later, fresh from the powdercoater :)

Millsy 07-19-2005 01:34 PM

I guess I got the names mixed up. (Ryan, Matt... Same thing)

Toby - What color are the rims going to be?

Quick question, is there much advantage to running a front strut bar across the engine bay or is it mainly cosmetics for under the hood?

islandsupra 07-19-2005 04:23 PM

Hey Toby, take pictures of the wheels when they are done. I'm considering fixing the curbage on mine then having them done as well.

Matt, Bob's bars are suspension techniques. Me and others can vouch for how good they are and how much difference they make. It was like night and day - you will be able to tell once you have the bars out and compare them side by side. The stock ones are hollow!!

Shane - I don't think there is much advantage at all to have a front strut bar in our cars. Some people have reported an improvement... but in our cars the struts are not really struts, they are only for absorbing shock. Not an integral part of the suspension... However I imagine it would still help a little but I can't see the improvement really being noticeable except another shiny peice under the hood :)

Enraged 07-19-2005 04:52 PM

wheels look wicked :) i also got JB to colormatch some paint for the center caps. ill post some pics up later in the week. the intake is getting welded on thursday, then the fun process of designing and building the plenum begins.

wheels are gunmetal. after talking to the guy, i might get my valvecovers done too, he said it would be around $30 for both + sandblasting. maybe some other misc parts... the gunmetal looks soooo wicked, huge amount of metallic in it, looks great in the sun.

Matt6003 07-19-2005 06:12 PM

Thanks Reuban.
Toby, post up some pics of those wheels!

_supras_ 07-19-2005 09:05 PM

Oi

So I'll be comming back from Australia with a hefty Tax return (5g's...) Wondering if you guys know of any Supra's for sale on the island, or van. ( I know there is buysell...just looking around) Prefer a '89, doesn't really matter tho, 5spd. Turbo or N/A is fine. Prefer Hardtop.
Anyway, lemme know if you hear anything. And then Ryan, you can teach me allll over again, hah.

islandsupra 07-19-2005 09:07 PM

you can buy mine, but it's an '87 and I can't take 5 grand for it ;)

Matt6003 07-19-2005 09:46 PM

I dont know of any that are in good condition at all, but if i hear of somethin i'll PM ya

Matt6003 07-19-2005 09:48 PM
