boo. i think my radiator is toast.

does anyone remember what radiator i was looking to buy awhile back? hehe. i dont need anything huge, just as good as OEM...

i *think* the rad i was looking at was for a NA

Matt6003 08-29-2005 12:27 AM

Go talk to Dennis at Beacon Auto, I beleive that parts car had a brand new rad on it

islandsupra 08-29-2005 09:36 AM

Hey Mur, I remember when I bought my rad a few months ago we were talking about them but I can't remember which one you were talking about... anyways I just ended up getting an OEM replacement one from lordco. It has plastic tanks like the stocker, not metal ones - but it's worked fine for me so far.

There was a guy on SF in the canadian section selling a basically brand-new Koyo. You should check that out, I wish I saw it before I bought mine! I ended up paying around 300 for mine, the best deal I could find locally... I wish I could have shopped around a bit first cause there's better deals out there - but I couldn't wait that long.

arturiusma7 08-29-2005 02:19 PM

hey enraged. ill like 95% buy that off of u, ill just paint it black and call it a day. and then yea, ill just get hardpipes built off of that...

Paradox 08-29-2005 07:40 PM

it was the Koyo i was thinkin' of. i found a bunch on ebay for cheap ($130) think i may get one of those.

Enraged 08-29-2005 08:56 PM

murray, use seawings express to bring it across the border. its usually cheap or free shipping in the US, then you just pay about $20 and do the duty stuff yourself.

art, let me know if/when you want to come take a look at it, im kinda busy this week helping my gf move and stuff, but ill be in and out of town....

Enraged 08-29-2005 08:59 PM

oh ya, im thinkin seriously of buyin the LC-1 wideband. $200 shipped from the US, and it can datalog with a laptop hooked up. murray, you want one? :)

Paradox 08-29-2005 10:45 PM

this is basically the rad i was looking at.. they are all over ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KOYO-...spagenameZWDVW

as for the wideband. hmm, i will probably have to look into them a bit more. perhaps after the rad.

i also sprung a leak in my AFPR today, so i cant drive the supra, boo. just gotta put a few new o-rings in though. i then went to drive the RX7 and the battery was dead. haha

islandsupra 08-30-2005 09:03 AM

Hey Murray, I actually emailed those guys about that rad. Seems like there were 2 different ones so make sure you get the right one!! The shipping quote wasn't all that bad either, but the duty charges would probably be killer.

I finally got my clutch in the mail last night, but I'm moving back down to Nanaimo today so I won't be able to do it myself/with my dad :( Anyone ever had one installed at a shop or know roughly how much they charge?

Millsy 08-30-2005 09:10 AM

Clutch work = too much.

If I were you, I'd do it myself.

arturiusma7 08-30-2005 03:09 PM

935 motorsports actually has some good rads and at seemingly good prices too. id check them out...

enraged, ill let u know tomorrow, im in mid move right now also so im still a little hectic :D

you should get an eletric fan as well that whould be sweet

nice thottle respones and tad bit more power and better cooling

Enraged 08-30-2005 05:20 PM

actually ryan its pointed to go through the fender hole, or through the snorkel hole, depends on which bend you use, no cutting required. i got kenny to make it that way for a reason, and i never got around to finishing the hardpipes for various reasons.

NashMan 09-02-2005 05:39 PM

ummm ok

Murray were you down town in the Supra the other night?

NashMan 09-03-2005 09:28 AM

humm thoiught it was you cause he looked at me funny when i drove past

Matt6003 09-03-2005 04:04 PM

I met a guy today with a blue 89+ Targa, just had 18" chrome 6 spokes put on it yesterday, but other than that its stock, he heard there was a way to tweak his wastegate for more power, but unfortunately having an NA i couldnt help him with that. You guys know anything about it?

islandsupra 09-03-2005 06:11 PM

unbolt the 2 bolts and add some washers to make the spring stiffer and it will hold more boost before it opens :)
Just tell him to be careful not to add too many washers if it's still all stock, especially if he only has the stock boost gauge - I'd probably start with one or 2 on each side.

Matt6003 09-04-2005 12:08 AM

Awsome, thanks Reuben, I'll let him know, and maybe try to get him on here

NashMan 09-04-2005 04:22 PM

arturiusma7 09-05-2005 04:35 PM

heheeh yes they r very fun! but ryan, im not hitting fuel cut it doesnt seem anymore... but i think the timing is off or something because aparently it shoots a nice black poof when i give'r.... Ryan (rx7 buddy) was racing me and yea he noticed that while he was behind me :) defiantely alot more lower end power.. and i ran it for an hour, wasted 25 bux of gas and could still grab my upper i/c pipe.. im pretty pleased :)
