I've put about an hour into one wheel so far, and its turning out pretty good. I'll post some pics & directions once I'm done.

come on guys... i picked up my trashed MKIV wheels for $400.... granted, refinishing them was $300 and tires were another $500 just for the rears, but thats besides the point...

the only way make em look good is to paint em darker gray

well my front end is all back together, looks sweet with the bright red calipers :) so now its just the fuel system, mount the IC, finish the FFI, and build some hardpipes. im ordering the bends in the next day or two, so if anyone wants aluminum bends let me know.

After painting Craig's sawblades a gunmetal grey, I think it clashed too much with the car/tires. I don't think I'd paint my rims a dark color unless my car was white. Even then, I'm a fan of polish/chrome.

Going out to polish more.

my wheels are gunmetal powdercoat with clear, it looks wicked with the burgandy, especially with the bright red calipers...

don't worry dude, you'll end up fixing it and you'll regret it and love it at the same time. It's just the way it seems to go (well, the smart ones bail out early lol).

And I know about the feeling that it used to be in good shape, My car used to be awesome.... and I spun a rod bearing with less than 70,000 original miles and had to replace the engine last summer... like I say, just seems to be the way she goes.
Hopefully it's not that bad though dude.

I'm also pretty sure I'm gonna pop my headgasket soon. hopefully it'll last till winter so I can park it and fix it lol.

gettin my IC bracket welded tomorrow, fuck bolting this shit together... also picked up a 10 gallon fish tank with all the equipment for $0 hehe, so now i gotta learn how to keep the fish from dyin. i wanted a shark but the tank is too small, apparantly the kind i wanted can get to be 13 inches long...
