hey, nashman how long have you been into supras? Oh thanks for the tip on the parts i never thought of phoning them. Iam thinking of going for the a new exaust and cool air intake any suggestions

Enraged 07-10-2002 11:12 PM

intake: used K&N FIPK if you can find one, check out www.supraforums.com forsale section. or you could get the universal kit from www.suprasport.com. or... another option is buy an adapter like this http://www.supra-sport.com/images/Adapters.jpg for US$15, and get a K&N from Lordco or the like, email toysport@supra-sport.com if you want one of those.

exhaust, go to the same guy nashman went to, $300 for piping i think, plus the cost of the muffler (you can get a magnaflow 3" stainless for around $200). as for downpipe, if your interested, i can get a one-peice (no turbo elbow) for US$300... over $100 less than retail, polished stainless steel....

im asumming you have an 88? what color/options/condition etc?

Enraged 07-10-2002 11:13 PM

damnit... no autox this week....

Jarrett_88 07-10-2002 11:21 PM

yaah i have a 88 turbo targa, its red i havent done really anything to it except a bomex wide mounth front buper, msr 16 inch 245 wheels and a pro circuit gt spoiler, i rebuilt it after it went into a ditch, the guy who put it in the ditch left it in his front yard, it was broken a some water got in, I bought it for like 2000 and i have just finsihed sanding and painting the floor pans and cleaning everything to mint and going through all the electronics ect, but its almost street legal, ahah

Jarrett_88 07-10-2002 11:25 PM

hey where abouts in saanichton do you live, i live like right in brentwood bay, i never see any other supras out here

Enraged 07-10-2002 11:25 PM

YOU BASTARD!!!! thats the one i was goin to buy!!!!

haha good find though. i had $2500 cash i was goin to give him, but i was workin all week and he sold it before the weekend.

Enraged 07-10-2002 11:26 PM

i live off stellys x rd. i work at the Co-op.

Enraged 07-10-2002 11:28 PM

as for supras, there is a few around. one dark blue NA driven by an old couple, a burgandy one identicle to mine owned by a guy that works by pharmasave by the PI, and a silver NA driven by a highschool kid i think. mines the only turbo ive seen around here. when are you putting yours on the road?

Jarrett_88 07-10-2002 11:43 PM

hey, yeah i have seen your car, parked out side the co op in keating, i always walk buy i take a look, in the next few weeks ill have mine on the road with hopefully a new paintjob, Did you you go to stellies?

Jarrett_88 07-10-2002 11:44 PM

yeah, live right beside bayside middle school, i work at the thrifties in saanichton

Jarrett_88 07-10-2002 11:51 PM

oh yeah and about the guy i bought the car off of i think you glad you didn't cause this car me and my dad have put in probably like over 1000 hours to get it this far, right when a started i almost gave casue it was so scary what the guy did, haaha hes fuckin mental, like the "custom shit" he did

Paradox 07-11-2002 12:06 AM

sweet new supra owner on the forum?

welcome dude! :)

christ, i just got back from parksville.... tons of freakin' cops everywhere between malahat and skidney. i saw like 5 people pulled over.

and damnit! i had my BOV set like perfectly, it sounded so dope when i drove up, then i thought id tweak it a little more and its al buggered now :(

Enraged 07-11-2002 12:12 AM

lol

once you have it on the road, your welcome to join our little club hehe the site is http://www.realityexit.org/VIS

fuzebox 07-11-2002 12:14 AM

Just installed my porsche 911 turbo BOV... I'm a big disappointed :p

1) Same spoolup, same performance, etc... this means my stocker wasn't leaking, as I originally thought

2) Boring rush of air sound... I read in a few places that because the valve had a shorter piston or something, it would snap open with a sharp whistle. Maybe I'm not running enough boost for this.

It is a bit louder than the stocker and doesn't flutter though... A decent repair for $65 :p

Enraged 07-11-2002 12:16 AM

think of it this way.... i bought my car, totally stock, for $7000. so for $5000, you can fix it, have a brand new paint job, rims, etc.... i would have loved a project car like that....

Paradox 07-11-2002 12:24 AM

fuzebox, u shoulda gone for the HKS SSQ :)

sounds so nice compared to the owl sound of the porsche BOV's and others..

too bad the price is like 10x as much
neways good luck with ur new supra dude, keep it clean and fast! :)

No hoot here... I think that's a myth :P Basically it's just a low-pitched woosh, you can easily hear it near the car...

And yes, maybe in a few months I'll buy the HKS unit, probably the old-style ones off Ebay or something.
