the car came as in a turbo model......

islandsupra 11-15-2005 09:50 PM

nothing wrong with asking about supercharging... it's been brought up tons, and I believe there is someone on supraforums trying to put it together right now. It's been done before too if I recall. But it never came as a stock option if that is what you are asking.

I think it (twincharge)would be fucking sweet, just an assload of work/money to modify the intake system. Also there's the problem of the supercharger itself becoming a bottle-neck in the intake system when the turbo is boosting - but the guy doing it right now came up with a good idea to possibly get around that.

Brandon if you have an N/A I think it would be much more feasible to go the turbo route you'll save a ton of money and headache.

^ no shit, everyone has to learn somehow. the entire "shut up newb" is not needed. ok thanks.

NashMan 11-15-2005 10:27 PM

super chagering and trubo is great idea but both have there limts

there is an easy way to run them both in series

as in one intak for the super chager and one for turbo you can not do this wiht out alot fo money and in the edn who knows what it will be like and is it worth ti

Slate 85GTS 11-15-2005 10:52 PM

I say build a NA stroker motor :p keep it natural... all the sudden there is no more headaches lol

islandsupra 11-15-2005 11:22 PM

the guy on sf had a good idea of incorporating a wastegate into the supercharger plumbing that would open up for a seperate tube to handle the excess pressure. Pretty neat idea but I wonder how well it would work.

I know on the twincharged mr2s the supercharger was just a bottleneck and people were able to get more power out of just turbo'ing them. But the power curve would be pretty f'ing cool!

Yep, ryan decided to go that route too(copied me!) after he heard how quick it spooled...although mine is tweaked a bit so it'll always spool quicker than his :D

lol sorry guys, i was just joking around about the shut up newb thing. im a sarcastic person :( 935 motorsports sells a TT manifold for the supra though.. i think someone like ryan *hint hint* should take that on :P

Our flow characteristics & powerband really aren't ideal for a twin setup...Single > twin 99% of the time

That said, there's an mk4 here in TO running sequential t66's...over 900rwhp(to about 1300rwhp so ive heard) from 6000rpm to 11000rpm...But that has nothing to do with it being 2J or 7M, just the amount of $$$ dumped at it

islandsupra 11-16-2005 04:31 PM

your mom isn't ideal for my setup.

btw - I can quote that whole movie till the cows come home... the key, however, is moderation ;)

Unfortunately, I won't be able to prove anything in person since I don't have the cash or time to drive 2500 miles

Unless I move out there, which is still a possibility...we'll see, but then it'll go something like this:

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...a90T/UDONT.gif for the black beast from the east, so you need to http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...90T/SELLIT.gif because it's http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ra90T/wood.gif

Uh, after I stopped laughing and thinking of all the possible things I could say about this, the nicest way I can put it is that the stupidest thing about his idea was buying or putting any money whatsoever into a 7m, period.

I'm almost entirely speechless over all the things I could say about this.
