Ryan go buy the newest (or just hang around and read it) sport compact car. They have a old school shootout and the guy representing the 7m supra's is none other then Dwyane. Good article. His car reminds me of yours..except..its runs. But good article none the less.

Ray

NashMan 02-25-2006 07:38 PM

umm there is no such thing as 3 liter 1j

NashMan 02-25-2006 07:38 PM

well my new oil pan is just about done now will finsh it later tonight

and i going to have a oil light yae !!!

Enraged 02-25-2006 07:45 PM

the "3 litre" 1jz is just a 1jz that uses a 2jz bottom end.

fletch 02-25-2006 08:11 PM

As far as I know 1jz cars were never imported to north america.
I've also never heard of a 3.0L 1jz, the 7m motor is a 3L and was imported here lots, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

-fletch

89TSoup 02-25-2006 08:59 PM

Here's what i know;
the 1jz-gte was a 2.5L twin turbo (280hp i think) it was a replacement for the 7m engine in 1989. I don't know if it was the only engine available after 89 or if japanese consumers had the choice of the 1j & the 7m.

The 1j is a predecessor to the 2j-gte that is in the mkiv supra.

The 7m-gte is a 3.0L turbo or NA motor.

The 1J was never available in north america but since it puts out more than the 7M stock people use it because of it's reliability because they don't know how to maintenance their 7m's properly.

I don't know if this is true but i think the 7m is capable of more hp because of the displacement .

NashMan 02-26-2006 02:49 AM

all say it once all say it twich there is no replacement for displament cetp tecnogly mix the shit to getter stand the fuck back

i thinks the 1j si waste of time

Thanks i was just wondering. I want sure of the 2jz's displacement. I thought the new MK4's had a 1j. Thanks for clearing that up.
