stock is 8.4:1 i buhlieve...

islandsupra 03-20-2006 01:52 AM

unless you go drastically towards one extreme or the other (and even then...), i don't think hg thickness will change your compression enough to worry about.

who knows what bena doen to that block and head mic it up then you knwo what ti will do

islandsupra 03-20-2006 01:21 PM

fair enough, I was just saying that the gasket itself shouldn't change anything much, assuming that the head and block haven't had the shit milled out of them.

I just got a stock hg from Don he had lying around without even giving much thought to my compression. The head was only milled a few thou. and given the amount of (or lack of) power I'll be pushing I didn't even consider it to be an issue.

haha so my clutch is finally showing signs of ownage... stock clutch + 100k km + 330 rwtq = pure ownage haha.. slipping if i drop the clutch... doesnt seem to under normal accelleration but i havent pushed it since it harshed slipping in 1st 2nd 3rd... i was so confused.. i thought i was riding the clutch lol... but i think im going to toss the act 6 puck in there... if its too harsh ill get a stocker and keep the act pp but i have faith.

89TSoup 03-24-2006 11:44 PM

i've got an act clutch in mine, i don't know what one though.
It's very stretable, harder than stock. It was in the car when i bought it it it works great for me.

Is the act a lighter flywheel? i've been thinking about lightening the drivetrain, does anyone make driveshafts for the mk3?

arturiusma7 03-24-2006 11:48 PM

hmm.. theres the act clutch kit with the modified stock disc which aparently is streetable.. the one i ahve is a 6 puck un sprung... but if u go to horsepowerfreaks.com or suprasport i buhlieve they sell drive shafts from "the driveshaft shop" also they r selling on ebay right now...

Overstuffed 03-24-2006 11:57 PM
