hey has anyone rebuilt a r154 before.. my synchros aparently did not like the drag strip :( or maybe its the upgraded clutch i dunno. but yea, i found a used one with 120k km on it for 525 bux cash.. so i might go that route, but to get my synchros redone is only like 600.. to rebuild the entire thing is 1025 or so. so yea. i dunno what to do!

well r154 trannyies are pretty stroung breaking one is not to comon

as say buy one but drain the oil out and see if it bad or not if it was try to find another

hey fyi it does have that much power and i wouldnt underestimate my knowledge caus i have a 92 sr20det 240sx pullin about 450whp on the dyno with almost 400 torque, and even that is too slow for me, so i need to sell this supra and willin to work a deal and give a free paintjob on the car or if i can get an engine swap in for $1000 sumone call cell

not to be a dick, but what else is done to the car to get 350 at the wheels, cause all you listed was exhaust. Not doubting, just wondering, it'd be hard to hit on the stock turbo with stock fuel unless you had a really good build, maybe higher compression and a really good tune.

internals r built, over 3 grand spent in the month before it blew, the turbo was takin apart and the inside was rebuilt double the size with the stock casing tho<not included in sale goin on my 240>, hks boost controller <not incld in sale> 18psi daily driver, feul injectors, feul pump, the fuckin works man, its a complete street car not a honda ricer 4cylinder! lol

as i said in less you have fule mods as in lex afm\maft\stand alone ect cause fule cut suck's suck's and you can not gte thous numbers

well i just think teh synchros r fuucked. its hard as hell to get it into first, but then once its in i can easily put it in, reverse feels like its not fully in reverse.. i have to give it alllot of gas to get it moving. almost feels like the brakes on. i put in some pennzoil synthetic, didnt change much. clutch pedal was adjusted up, still no help. it all started right after the drag strip where i did have a lot of wheel hop in the burn out pit and down the track...so thats not too easy on the trans... i know its a strong tranny and im pretty confused as to why its being all queer..

you should be able to get redline from lordco or crappy tire. I was going to order some for my tranny last summer but never got around to it.
That canadian oil change place even carried redline. I had them do my diff oil with redline 75-90 (too lazy to do it myself, and I go there for oil changes sometimes).

so you have not chnaged your tranny fuild but you did you diff come on rubane your tranny hates you that why yuo car being dick to you hehehe

on a side note i got all my lines for my oil cooler and oil temp sencer

now i just got mock it up then install it

Yeah I will probably do my tranny fluid this summer.
So apparently my car is fine too, I don't know what happened but all the smoke is gone. The clearances on one of my valves is a little bit off.. gonna see how bad it is but other than that I think I'm (finally!) ready to get it back on the road!!

maybe it was just some crap sitting on the pistons from when you took it apart?

in other news, im looking for a vehicle, so let me know if you guys hear of anything for sale. looking for something like a 4 cyl 4runner, or a 4cyl car.

yeah I am thinking some coolant might have got down one of the cylinders. there was some sitting on top of one of the pistons for a bit from when I pulled the head off, but i wiped them clean and sprayed/scraped them all clean with brake cleaner afterwards - but maybe that was the case :)

it still runs, but its sucks driving on the malahat. i work in duncan, so its a 45min drive each way, every day. need something with a bit more power that can be reliable, but still good on gas.... i looked at a 4runner today, $6995 with 300,000km on it.... ya... right...

man this spare motor is dirty bich and leaks every where but i am fixing that for now
