Called up Island hose and hydraulic today, he said he can get me blue silicon hose in various imperial diameters.. but also said it wasnt recommended for vaccuum line.

Tho, dude said he can get actual vaccuum hose in other colours.

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 01:47 AM

well, fuck vacuum lines, coolant hose decided it was going to be more important.

Im driving back down mckenzie towards the #1 and woosh, TONS of smoke from hood and I mean TONS.

Rad = empty.

Car was shut off immediatly after noticing the smokey.

cooling system continues to drain on the street as i pop my hood to find coolant sprayed all over the majority of my engine bay. So I dont think bhg, since well, the coolant drained, everywhere.

Anyone wanna come and help me hunt down the very, very possible burst coolant hose? :(

EDIT: Im thinking maybe my coolant plug has been pootched. (the one up by the heater hoses at the back of the engine bay), since the majority of the coolant was spewed onto the passenger side of the engine bay..either that or turbo lines.

NashMan 08-02-2006 09:24 AM

it's the coolent hose that is the lower coolent hose for your turbo

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 09:45 AM

Thats what I was thinking but I've also heard it can be either of the 2 hoses on the back of the block (90° hose from hell and the one that goes right on the top of the head).

I'll have to take a good look over it when I get home from work..

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 09:50 AM

also, would that hose manage to get coolant spray up on even the 3000 pipe?

I guess if it hit the fan it woudl go everywhere anyway.

humm if remmber right that hose was replaced on your car

there all so on some 7m some there will be a hose woiht bolt in ti at the back of the motor some times thou's leak

well it's coolent hose you will find it ntot hat hard if ti emtyed that fast it's big leak

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 10:06 AM

yea, the amount of smoke was (even though scary for me at the time) kindof funny.

You couldnt even see the other side of the road there was so much and everyone was stopping, and its a damn good thing i noticed the smoke so quickly.

NashMan 08-02-2006 12:23 PM

fix it yet

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 12:34 PM

na, been sitting here at work thinking about fixing it though, if that counts.

hey, since you're sitting around you could go fix it for me, hah.

but i just called up toyota and they are grabbing prices for me on the rediculously expensive custom molded hoses and crap that im gonna need (I'm gonna be replacing a bunch of crap while im there i guess).

islandsupra 08-02-2006 02:07 PM

if you need the L-shaped hose that comes off the back of the head I have a spare new one... the parts car had an almost new one on it so I have a spare kicking around in one of my boxes. Beats the $80 that toyota charges for it!

mr_baboon 08-02-2006 02:20 PM

:) you *might* be my new best friend, forever.

Im going to check out what hose went boom as soon as i get home, want to get the car to a non-spewing-coolant-all-over-the-engine-bay state asap..

Toyota hoses = hurting pricewise, I have to get 3 new ones that are on the stock accordian hose as well, mine are like pieces of steel piping and the bov is leaking like hell at the 3000 pipe.

NashMan 08-02-2006 04:28 PM

just got run out and grab your self bosh bov there better bov make neat sound and you will bebale to push more boost though ti as well did i mention it has killer sound to it

the saab one is my fav they don't do that diprame nosie as much as the porsh bov

http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=19

to hook it up is eay get some reg hose that fits around the stock hose then fit it over and clamp it to take up the space

easy as pie and there cheep and cna hold big boost like 20 pounds max

NashMan 08-02-2006 06:53 PM

woot wooot i gonna have tration now

i got slicks hehehe in my room
thansk blake

arturiusma7 08-02-2006 08:41 PM

UGH brakes suck!! lol.. i was doing the front brakes. it was such a bitch... driver side took an hour! thats from putting the car up, taking both wheels off, then taking off the rotor and replacing rotor and pads... passenger side took 30 mins.. oh well.. at least now it feels solid and doesnt squeek!!

TobyCat 08-02-2006 08:55 PM

Hey ryan, won't be able to come out tonight...I was gonna leave you a msg but you weren't online.

NashMan 08-02-2006 09:27 PM

no big deal go hide you meat stick now

Paradox 08-02-2006 10:14 PM

someone seriously sounds like they have a BHG with all those coolant issues. BHG will put pressure into the coolant system that wasnt there before and thus cause similar probs to what you've been having.

no worries either way, BHG is far from fatal, just dont let it overheat and warp the head.

in other news, although however lowely. i finally wired up my foglights which have been sitting there for years without power. had to wire em around a bit since i wanted them to work like factory, or just be on like driving lights as the stockers used to be.

mr_baboon 08-03-2006 06:33 AM

coolant issues SOLVED.

Water pump looks like Niagra Falls when I pour water in the rad.

Also explains why I couldnt get a vacuum in the cooling system.
