Enraged 07-22-2007 03:53 PM

might be getting these made, holds 2 60mm gauges, machined from aluminum:

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9...ldersg9.th.jpg

designed to go over the top of the steering column. the gauges are clamped with M4 socket head cap screws, and the bracket is attached with M6 thread fasteners. once I get a quote back on pricing, I might play with the design a bit. and the spacing between the gauges.

NashMan 07-22-2007 04:31 PM

60 mill whould be a bad choicse 52 the max you ever want to put there with out block to much stuff

apparantly.

depending on the price, i could do both 52 and 60.

TobyCat 07-23-2007 11:11 AM

I like that setup, have you mocked up a set yet? It would be nice to see what parts of the dash would be covered though...looks like only the low end RPMs and high end speeds. You shouldn't care about either anyways!

You certainly should though.

Oho. snap.

I wish I could drive a car like you :(

islandsupra 07-23-2007 02:00 PM

i might be interested in one of those too toby!

Oh and my car is finally getting worked on! Looks like there was a shitload of carbon buildup around the valves, probably what was causing all the smoke. Compression test showed 175 across the board, 160 in #6... leakdown showed it was mostly oil, which was surprising.

Valve grind happening tomorrow, then we'll do the seals and all the top end gaskets. Also had a little coolant leak under the throttlebody.

Now all I need to do is find out what's wrong with the heatercore, maybe slap in a new clutch while we're at it and should be good to go!

I sold all my gauges and safc though a while back... if anyone has a line on a decent set lmk.

Enraged 07-23-2007 06:09 PM

cheak this or griegyou know you wana

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5...5a00f33069.htm

islandsupra 07-23-2007 08:47 PM

yeah I don't think it's a broken valve... I've already bypassed the VSV to get my heat working properly, it was actually leaking a small amount of coolant inside on the driver's side by the gas pedal. I think the connector sticking out of the firewall got a little bent last time I put the head back in, so I'll have to check that out.

I'm almost excited to drive the thing again! it's been a year i think.
